Once the examination process is complete, the City of York Civil Service Board presents passing candidates to the City for consideration of employment. The City of York Civil Service Board determines an applicant&#8217;s eligibility for examination without regard to race, color, sex, creed, religion, national origin, and marital status.<\/p>\n<p>Completion of this application does not guarantee any applicant an opportunity to examine, interview or employment. This includes the prevention, detection, and suppression of crime, preservation of law and order, and the protection of life and property.<\/p>\n<p>Police Officers professionally and efficiently deliver critical services to citizens whom they serve. Police Officers provide a full range of police service to the City of York. Police Officers are held directly responsible for handling law enforcement problems, calls for service, citizen requests, police-citizen relations, and police customer service
