George Wealth Management | Chattanooga, Tennessee<\/strong> Are you interested in becoming a financial advisor, financial planner or wealth management professional?<\/p>\n George Wealth Management has created a structured development pathway designed to help college students move from the classroom into the financial advisory profession.<\/p>\n For University of Tennessee at Chattanooga students, we have developed a three-year Financial Advisor Development Roadmap that combines selected UTC coursework with hands-on professional development.<\/p>\n Not a UTC student?<\/strong><\/p>\n We can build a similar development path around the courses and resources available at your college or university.<\/p>\n Our goal is to help you develop from:<\/p>\n College Student \u2192 Intern \u2192 Financial Planning\/Wealth Management Associate \u2192 Developing Advisor \u2192 Financial Advisor<\/strong><\/p>\n We do not believe future financial advisors should begin by learning how to sell financial products.<\/p>\n We believe they should first learn how to understand people.<\/p>\n Our development philosophy is:<\/p>\n Understand finance \u2192 Understand people \u2192 Listen \u2192 Ask \u2192 Coach \u2192 Lead \u2192 Exercise judgment \u2192 Help people make and implement better decisions.<\/strong><\/p>\n You will develop financial knowledge while also learning communication, psychology, listening, behavioral finance, decision-making, leadership and professional judgment.<\/p>\n Learn how money works and how people work.<\/p>\n Development may include financial fundamentals, psychology, communication, ethics, SIE preparation, advisor simulations, case studies and professional observation.<\/p>\n The first conversation skill is simple:<\/p>\n Listen \u2192 Ask \u2192 Clarify \u2192 Summarize<\/strong><\/p>\n Begin developing deeper skills in investments, behavioral finance, financial analysis, retirement planning, taxes, estate planning, insurance, leadership and client service.<\/p>\n The goal becomes:<\/p>\n Understand \u2192 Identify the barrier \u2192 Create clarity \u2192 Reduce friction<\/strong><\/p>\n Integrate planning, investments and human behavior.<\/p>\n Advanced development may include portfolio analysis, retirement planning, tax and estate coordination, business-owner planning, executive planning, client communication, professional collaboration and supervised client participation.<\/p>\n Depending on your experience and stage of development, you may participate in:<\/p>\n Financial planning research<\/p>\n Investment and portfolio research<\/p>\n Client meeting preparation<\/p>\n Retirement planning analysis<\/p>\n Tax and estate-planning research<\/p>\n Client-service projects<\/p>\n Financial technology<\/p>\n Artificial intelligence and automation<\/p>\n Data analysis<\/p>\n Business-development research<\/p>\n Marketing and communications<\/p>\n Workflow improvement<\/p>\n Advisor conversation simulations<\/p>\n Financial planning case studies<\/p>\n Client-related work will be performed at the appropriate level and under supervision.<\/p>\n We are looking for students who are interested in both numbers and people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Students studying finance, financial planning, accounting, economics, business analytics, marketing, management, psychology, communications, data analytics, information systems and related fields are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n More important than your specific major is how you approach learning.<\/p>\n We are looking for people who are:<\/p>\n Curious<\/p>\n Dependable<\/p>\n Coachable<\/p>\n Professional<\/p>\n Good listeners<\/p>\n Comfortable asking questions<\/p>\n Interested in understanding people<\/p>\n Comfortable learning new technology<\/p>\n Willing to receive feedback<\/p>\n Responsible for completing what they start<\/p>\n You do not need to arrive knowing how to be a financial advisor.<\/p>\n That is what the development pathway is designed to teach.<\/strong><\/p>\n UTC students can follow our existing three-year roadmap connecting university coursework with professional development.<\/p>\n Students from other colleges and universities are also encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n For the right candidate, George Wealth Management can create an individualized roadmap based on:<\/p>\n Your school + Your major + Available courses + Your career stage + The skills required to become a successful financial advisor<\/strong><\/p>\n For the right person, this is intended to become more than a single-semester internship.<\/p>\n Successful interns may have the opportunity to continue developing with George Wealth Management as their skills, education and professional responsibilities progress.<\/p>\n Technology and artificial intelligence will continue changing financial services.
