Employment Type<\/strong><\/p>\n Assistant Group Supervisor<\/p>\n Part-time: M-F; 7:00am-10:00am or 2:00pm- 6:00pm<\/p>\n Full Year (12 month position)\u00a0<\/p>\n Location: Stepping Stones Children’s Center (Gibsonia, PA)<\/p>\n $500 Signing Bonus after first 90 days and $500 Bonus after 6 months<\/p>\n Pay range starts at $16.00 per hour.<\/p>\n General Position Description<\/strong><\/p>\n The Assistant Group Supervisor supports the Teachers and\/or the Group Supervisors by helping to create a caring and safe school environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S\/he must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment and develop positive relationships with the children and their parents. Assistants are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and\/or the Group Supervisor.<\/p>\n This Position Reports to the Program Site Director\/Group Supervisor<\/p>\n Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.<\/p>\n Actively engage in activities inside and outside; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.<\/p>\n Maintain daily communications with parents through informal discussions.<\/p>\n Ability to communicate effectively with children to ensure safety, relationships, and guidance<\/p>\n Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.<\/p>\n Follow all Stepping Stones policies and state regulations.<\/p>\n Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.<\/p>\n All other duties as assigned<\/p>\n Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required<\/strong><\/p>\n Minimum of 2 years (2,500 hours) of professional experience in childcare or working\/volunteering with children.<\/p>\n High energy.<\/p>\n Ability to work well with others.<\/p>\n An understanding of child development.<\/p>\n Ability to interact with children on different levels including the floor, lift\/carry children and supplies, and move around the center while supervising children.<\/p>\n Flexibility with classroom (Infant, Toddler, and Preschool) and hour assignments.<\/i><\/p>\n Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.<\/p>\n Must pass a full background check, drug screening test, and health screening.<\/p>\n Educational Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n High School Diploma and at least 2,500 hours of experience working with children.<\/p>\n Willingness to complete a CDA, SAC, or credit equivalent coursework<\/p>\n About Stepping Stones Children’s Center<\/strong><\/p>\n Stepping Stones is a non-profit childcare center based north of Pittsburgh in Gibsonia, PA with multiple program offerings, including: (i) full-day childcare at our Main Center location in Gibsonia for infants through Pre-K, (ii) before and after-school care programs for elementary school students in two local school districts (care is provided on school property), (iii) extended day program for half-day kindergarten students in two local school districts, and (iv) full-day summer camp.
