Headquartered in Pennsylvania, TLC operates across multiple states, providing K-12 alternative education, comprehensive mental and behavioral health services, coaching, counseling, and trauma-informed training. Additionally, TLC collaborates with school districts, universities, hospitals, police departments, and nonprofit organizations, offering consultation services to secure federal and state grant funding<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Educator provides academic instruction and socioemotional support to at-risk youth, grades 7-12, in an alternative school setting. In an open, small classroom environment, the Educator must\u00a0demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in serving the individualized instructional needs of the students assigned to the class. Educator must be able to work in a team environment with other educators, special education staff, counselors, and social workers. Educator should possess a high degree of authenticity, kindness, and empathy while effectively maintaining a classroom atmosphere conducive to academic and socioemotional growth.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions &amp; Responsibilities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Facilitate Learning<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop a classroom culture where Educator is viewed as \u201cfacilitator\u201d of the learning process and not a \u201clecturer\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Plans, prepares and implements lesson plans that facilitate active learning<\/li>\n<li>Provides personalized support to each student to develop learning plans that matches each student\u2019s needs and abilities<\/li>\n<li>Utilizes Project-Based Learning (PBL) techniques<\/li>\n<li>Leverages technology to support and differentiate instruction<\/li>\n<li>Develops a multi-sensory learning environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Conduct Assessments<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assigns and grades class work, homework, test and assignments<\/li>\n<li>Monitors the progress of individual students and uses information to adjust facilitation strategies<\/li>\n<li>Maintains accurate and complete records of students\u2019 progress<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Develop Positive Classroom Culture<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Builds positive, compassionate classroom communities that engages learners<\/li>\n<li>Finds and exchanges tips for coping with disruptive behaviors and managing distraction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Provide Socioemotional Support<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides diverse opportunities to develop and enhance students\u2019 social and emotional skills<\/li>\n<li>Promotes the overall wellness (physical, mental, social, emotional) of each student<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Be an Integral Partner<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Actively participates in department, school, district and parent meetings<\/li>\n<li>Initiates and maintains close contact with parents\/guardians of each student\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Communicates information regularly to students, parents, and districts regarding student progress and student needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Perform Administrative Tasks<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Updates all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations<\/li>\n<li>Assesses, records, and reports on the development, progress, goal attainment and behavior of students<\/li>\n<li>Attends meetings as scheduled and necessary with counselors, other staff and other members of the Public-School District<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leadership and soft skills:\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent communication and relationship building skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively on a multi-treatment team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Technical skills:\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient in subject matter taught<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Knowledge and experience with Microsoft programs<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree and Pennsylvania teaching Certification in subject taught<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Small alternative, open-space school setting (grades 7-12) in Exton, PA<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Hours:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 43-week
