The Radiologic Technologist I Interventional Radiology is a health care professional that, through the utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified physician assists with procedures and acquiring high quality radiographs on adult patients for all interventional studies. Operates all equipment in an effective, safe and efficient manner. Minimizes radiation exposure.\u00a0 Assists physicians with invasive radiographic procedures.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Handles and assists in sterile procedure and supplies.\u00a0 Must prep and monitor patients during the procedure.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Records QA assignments.\u00a0 Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Performs routine maintenance in cleaning all equipment.\u00a0 Complies with house-wide BSI precautions and follows recommendations.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and be in compliance with medical, state and federal safety standards.\u00a0 They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Must be proficient in all aspects of ordered radiographic procedure.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Demonstrate knowledge and ability to set-up and assist in venous access procedures.<\/p>\n

Review patient history for patient\u2019s condition.\u00a0 Take precautions to check for possible adverse reactions.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Demonstrates knowledge and ability of inventory status and control.\u00a0 Rotates stock, maintains and adequate quantity.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Obtains and records all patient data as required by the medical center, state, JCAHO or other agencies. Ensure proper charging of all procedures, coding, and modifiers are correct.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Performs other duties as assigned<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Education, Credentials, Licenses:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Graduate of an approved accredited program of Radiologic Technology.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u00a0<\/p>\n

    State Licensure:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Kentucky – KBMIRT Radiation Operator’s License \u2013 Radiography<\/li>\n
    • Indiana – Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) License \u2013 (Radiologic Technologist)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \u00a0<\/p>\n

      Specialized Knowledge:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n

      Excellent understanding of radiation protection and sterile technique.\u00a0<\/p>\n

      \u00a0<\/p>\n

      Kind and Length of Experience:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n

      Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.\u00a0<\/p>\n

      \u00a0<\/p>\n
