{"id":92304,"date":"2026-09-05T16:15:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-05T16:15:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/exercise-instructor-active-older-adults\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T20:23:53","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T00:23:53","slug":"exercise-instructor-active-older-adults","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/exercise-instructor-active-older-adults\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercise Instructor- Active Older Adults"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Position:<\/strong>\u00a0Exercise Instructor- Active Older Adults<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wage:<\/strong>\u00a0$19.23 to $27.38 per hour\u00a0(Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours:<\/strong>\u00a0Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week- Preferred PM Availability\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Pearl Street Family YMCA, Tacoma, WA<\/p>\n<p>As an Exercise Instructor, you will create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement as you teach group exercise classes such as Chair Yoga, Silver Fit, Group Fitness (55+ focus).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of one year experience in group exercise classes.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of core fitness components and best practices for group exercise instruction.<\/li>\n<li>Group Exercise or related specialty certification (preferred).<\/li>\n<li>YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and\/or Foundations of Group Exercise certification, or equivalent certifications such as ACE, ACSM, or AFAA (preferred).<\/li>\n<li>Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (preferred).<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).<\/li>\n<li>Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.<\/li>\n<li>Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct\u00a0fun, safe\u00a0and educational classes<\/li>\n<li>Design classes to improve one or more of the four components of fitness;
