{"id":91638,"date":"2026-09-04T22:56:33","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T22:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/before-and-after-school-childcare-floater-2\/"},"modified":"2026-09-22T08:14:14","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T12:14:14","slug":"before-and-after-school-childcare-floater-2","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/before-and-after-school-childcare-floater-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Before and After School Childcare Floater"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a\u00a0<strong>Before and After School Childcare Floater<\/strong>\u00a0to join our team.<\/p>\n<p>The YMCA\u00a0focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As a\u00a0Before and After School Teacher, you will support the YMCA Childcare Program year-round to serve our school age children with a variety of activity options to explore and develop the interests and talents of the youth with a focus on safety, health, social growth, and academic enhancement for\u00a0children to have fun and thrive in our care. Our programs are run in various local schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support various school sites as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain positive public relations with members and always represent the best interests and core values of the YMCA.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents, students, school staff and peers.<\/li>\n<li>Support student goals, academic or otherwise.<\/li>\n<li>Lead curriculum and physical activities.<\/li>\n<li>Promote a positive environment that fosters fun, safety, and our YMCA values which includes implementation of proximity praise, specific action compliments, our Core Values and our 8 Points of Leadership.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain site and equipment, including implementing proper cleaning procedures and upkeep of equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Directly supervise children at all times and maintain program\/site in compliance with state licensing standards.<\/li>\n<li>Attend and participate in family nights and program activities.<\/li>\n<li>Attend staff meetings at least once a month at an off-site location.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the Annual Campaign by reaching site goal and asking 100% of the parents in the program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are you a good fit?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.<\/li>\n<li>You are at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.<\/li>\n<li>You have at least one\u00a0year of experience working with children in a childcare setting.<\/li>\n<li>Are willing to enroll in and complete STARS training within 60 days of employment (i.e. Ongoing 10 hours, 20\/30 Hour Basic).<\/li>\n<li>You are currently certified (with documentation) or are willing to certify in Infant-Child CPR and Basic First Aid within 30 days of employment (YMCA will assist in this process.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>You are willing to obtain a Food Handlers permit (cost reimbursable), complete a pre-employment TB skin test with negative results (YMCA will assist in this process) and proof of MMR vaccination (before the first day of employment).<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to successfully complete required DCYF background and fingerprint checks before the first day of hire.<\/li>\n<li>You are able to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on your first day, and other online and in-person training as required.<\/li>\n<li>You have reliable transportation, the ability to assist at other childcare sites as needed and attend meetings at off-site locations.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Wages:<\/strong>\u00a0$18.03 to $20.22 per hour, depending on qualifications<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours:<\/strong>\u00a0Part-Time, Monday \u2013 Friday<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shift:<\/strong>\u00a0Monday-Friday Split Shift 6:00-10:00am;
