Unofficial copies are acceptable.<\/p>\n<p>Failure to submit proof of <strong>licenses, certifications, and Education\u00a0<\/strong>will result in your application not being considered. \u00a0Proof of licenses, certifications, and\/or education must be submitted with each application.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under general supervision, provide education, outreach, and promotion of family caregiver programs and initiatives to the community at large to benefit Baltimore County residents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Duties<\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides coordination and oversight of the Dementia Friendly initiative within Baltimore County.<\/li>\n<li>Works with community organizations, other County agencies, and the public to execute the Dementia Friendly Initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Participates in evidence-based programming, special projects, and new initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Creates publicity campaigns for distribution to multiple outlets.<\/li>\n<li>Schedules speaking engagements.<\/li>\n<li>Develops agendas, outlines, and presentation content.<\/li>\n<li>Hosts information sessions and events in the community.<\/li>\n<li>Supervises and guides staff and volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluates and reviews assignments of staff and volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares statistical and summary reports as required.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures performance standards and expectations are met.<\/li>\n<li>Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff, clients, and outside agencies.<\/li>\n<li>Attends meetings and training sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Examples of Other Duties<\/strong><br \/>Participates as part of the Baltimore County Department of Aging (BCDA) team that provides evidence-based programs such as the Aging Mastery Program for Caregivers, Dealing with Dementia Workshops, PEARLS, and\/or pursues new evidence-based programs. Coordinate the outreach efforts for Dementia Friends and Dementia Live. Perform other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p>(<strong>NOTE:<\/strong> The duties and responsibilities listed above are for the purpose of determining a common set of minimum qualifications for all positions in this class. Each position may not be required to perform all of the essential job functions listed.)<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor&#8217;s degree in a social or behavioral science.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>(Experience as described in essential duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years for the required education.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Self-motivated and self-directed.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of community, human, and social services programs, particularly related to seniors and people with dementia.<\/li>\n<li>Skill in creating business letters, writing articles, and press releases.<\/li>\n<li>Strong customer service and project management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to conduct outreach and present effectively to individuals and groups.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to initiate and interact with community organizations and other agencies<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Proof of Licenses, Certifications, and Education<\/strong><br \/>Applicants are required to submit proof of education beyond high school to meet the required qualifications for this job. \u00a0Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant&#8217;s major field of study.
