Safety sensitive positions must comply to federal regulations where marijuana still remains illegal. Possession of a medical marijuana license does not exempt safety sensitive positions from federal regulations. Should one of these safety sensitive positions test positive on a drug test and lose the ability to perform within the job description outline, the City of Claremore will implement the zero-tolerance policy resulting in immediate termination.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Minimum Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CLEET Certified preferred<br \/>Must be between the ages of 21-45 or previously been a participant of the OK police pension<\/li>\n<li>Must possess a valid\u00a0 Driver\u2019s License which has not been suspended or revoked in the past 5 years<\/li>\n<li>Must not have been convicted of domestic abuse or be listed as defendant on a protective order<\/li>\n<li>Must not have been convicted of a felony crime or have any pending criminal actions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong><u>Essential Duties:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operate a motor vehicle for routine patrol assignments and responding to the needs of the community<\/li>\n<li>Enforce state and federal laws and City ordinances<\/li>\n<li>Make arrests on criminal and traffic related offenses<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned, which include but are not limited to: investigation of crime scenes, preservation and collection of evidence, preparation of handwritten and typed reports, oral testimony in courts of law, investigation of traffic accidents, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<\/u><\/strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to operate two-way radios, vehicle and handheld types; radar equipment and Intoxilyzer equipment<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read, understand and interpret ordinances, laws and other operating\u00a0procedures and communicate both orally and in writing<\/li>\n<li>Ability to drive a vehicle safely and efficiently while under stress and while communication on radio<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deal effectively with others in both stressful and routine day to day situations<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to follow orders, and to work with others<\/li>\n<li>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality<\/li>\n<li>Must be honest in dealing with the public and obey all laws<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekend, and long hours as necessary<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret maps and give directions as needed<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner<\/li>\n<li>Ability to perform all aspects of Community Policing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u200b<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you do not\u00a0receive\u00a0a &#8220;Police Initial Email&#8221; with further instructions within two (2) business days, please check your junk or spam email.
