Friday 11pm&#8211; Saturday 7am; Saturday 11pm&#8211;Sunday 7am.<br \/>\u00a0-Day Shift, every other weekend. Saturday and Sunday 7am-3pm<\/p>\n<p>On-Call positions work open shifts as available.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shift differential is an additional $0.50 per hour from 4pm-10pm and $1.25 per hour from 10pm-6am and $0.50 for all weekend hours<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Assists in planning, directing and overseeing the learning, living and leisure time activities through direct interaction of youth at the Shelter; enforces Shelter rules, intervenes in crisis situations, closely monitors location and activities of children 24-hours per day.\u00a0 Assures the health, safety, and well-being of residents Placed at Shelter Care.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Maintains positive relationships; provides support, encouragement and information to the youth and their families.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Directly interacts with and observes activities and behavior of youth; fills out and completes daily reports and logs; consults with professionals regarding youth&#8217;s behavior; completes and maintains other records as necessary.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Receives referrals for admission to the Shelter, completes written requirements, observes physical condition of female\/male residents upon admission and return to facility; contacts case managers as necessary.\u00a0 Conducts searches of residents.\u00a0 Completes unauthorized leave and incident reports.\u00a0 Completes the release process when a resident leaves Shelter Care.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Participates with direct interaction in planning and executing learning, recreational, social and daily living skills programs\/activities.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Maintains order and administers positive, constructive discipline as necessary and appropriate without the use of physical or mechanical restraint.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Maintains positive, effective professional communication with parents, case managers, court staff, coworkers and other members of the community and working professionals.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Helps plan, develop, participate in and supervise a variety of community outings and presentations for residents.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Completes a variety of statistical and progress reports on youth or agency activities.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Performs and\/or oversees a variety of general duties such as: maintaining inventories of bed linens and equipment, cleaning\/inspection of rooms, purchasing of food and supplies, administering of first aid\/CPR\/AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) and minor maintenance\/housekeeping duties.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Conducts fire drills and carries out emergency\/safety plans when needed.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Assists in planning nutritional meal program for youth, in food preparation, storage and clean up.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Participates in staff development, attends related seminars, staff meetings and workshops.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Assists with shopping for food and other items needed by the residents or the Shelter.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Maintains required training\/hours and certifications annually.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Carries out all Shelter Care work rules, policies and procedures and all County policies.<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Education and Experience:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<br \/>High School diploma and a combination of education, training, and experience. A Bachelor\u2019s degree in Human Services or an associated field is preferred.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/><strong><u>Licenses and Certifications:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Valid Wisconsin Driver&#8217;s License<br \/>Certification in first aid and CPR\/AED as set forth by DHSS or ability to pass a course.<br \/>Applicants must also complete a fingerprint background check as part of the hiring process.<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Knowledge of appropriate educational, recreational and social activities for youth and the ability to carry these out in an effective and instructional manner.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Knowledge of group dynamics and human relations.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Knowledge of health and safety precautions and first aid\/CPR\/AED.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Knowledge of acceptable hygiene standards, procedures regarding blood borne pathogens, and appropriate food handling, preparation and storage.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Knowledge of adolescent psychology, and human growth and development.<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>Knowledge of and ability to help youth acquire daily living\/social skills.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to utilize crisis intervention\/de-escalation skills in handling emergency situations.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability and skill to relate with young people in a positive, respectful, responsible, unprejudiced and understanding manner using sound judgment.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability and skill to maintain \u00a0 a positive and effective working relationship with internal customers (case managers, parents, human service workers) and External customers (law enforcement officials, outside service providers, parent\/guardians, and the general public)<br \/>Ability and skill to provide safe, beneficial care and services to youth.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to prioritize multiple duties and responsibilities under changing circumstances.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to exercise mature judgment at all times.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to enforce the rules and regulations as established in the Shelter Care policy\/procedures and as determined by State of Wisconsin Licensing Specialists.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to be a positive role model for youth.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to work the required hours of the position and\/or meet the minimum requirements of the position.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to oversee the set up and self-administration of prescribed medications for the youth.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Ability to complete all other duties as assigned by Shelter Care Unit Supervisor.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/><strong><u>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Lifting 30 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and\/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Frequent standing, walking and sitting; occasional driving.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Using hand(s)\/feet for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and operating controls.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Frequent bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Communicating orally in a clear manner.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Distinguishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>Distinguishing people or objects at varied distances under a variety of light conditions.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Brown County is an E-Verify employer.
