{"id":80163,"date":"2026-09-09T00:38:19","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T00:38:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/lead-clinical-evidence-annotator\/"},"modified":"2026-09-09T08:23:56","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T12:23:56","slug":"lead-clinical-evidence-annotator","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/lead-clinical-evidence-annotator\/","title":{"rendered":"Lead Clinical Evidence Annotator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>InterConnect Techs has been invited to submit a National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Research Phase I proposal for the Evidence Completeness Audit Platform, a biomedical informatics platform designed to improve confidence in published clinical evidence.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking a Lead Annotator to oversee the structured review and annotation of a gold-standard dataset comparing <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/\"><u>ClinicalTrials.gov<\/u><\/a> records with corresponding journal publications. This role will supervise four doctoral-level annotators and ensure the quality, consistency, and traceability of annotation decisions.<\/p>\n<p>This is a remote, part-time W-2 position contingent upon NSF SBIR Phase I award. The position includes approximately 350 total hours during Months 1 through 7 of the 12-month project period. Hours will vary by project phase and average approximately 12 hours per week. Compensation is $55 per hour.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Responsibilities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead annotation calibration sessions and establish inter-annotator agreement protocols<\/li>\n<li>Supervise a team of four doctoral-level annotators<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the adjudication log and resolve classification disagreements<\/li>\n<li>Monitor annotation consistency and identify systematic areas of disagreement<\/li>\n<li>Calculate and report inter-annotator agreement at defined project milestones<\/li>\n<li>Review ambiguous registry-publication pairs and make escalation decisions<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate annotation quality checks and documentation requirements<\/li>\n<li>Communicate significant findings, risks, and unresolved issues to the Principal Investigator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Minimum qualifications<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s or doctoral degree in clinical research, epidemiology, pharmacy, public health, biomedical science, or a closely related discipline<\/li>\n<li>Experience reviewing clinical trial publications and clinical trial registry records<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with structured annotation methods and inter-annotator agreement measures<\/li>\n<li>Strong critical reading, analytical reasoning, and documentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to apply classification protocols consistently across a large evidence dataset<\/li>\n<li>Ability to supervise independent reviewers and maintain quality standards<\/li>\n<li>Authorization to work in the United States<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Preferred qualifications<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience managing or coordinating annotation teams in a research setting<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/\"><u>ClinicalTrials.gov<\/u><\/a> and clinical trial outcome reporting requirements<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of CONSORT or related clinical research reporting standards<\/li>\n<li>Experience in evidence synthesis, systematic review, meta-analysis, or clinical trial auditing<\/li>\n<li>Experience using annotation platforms or structured evidence-review workflows<\/li>\n<li>Experience supporting federally funded or regulated research projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>University researchers, faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, and experienced clinical evidence professionals are encouraged to apply.
