CDD\u2019s mission is to foster a livable, sustainable, just, and equitable community. CDD has three programmatic divisions \u2013 Economic Opportunity &amp; Development, Community Planning &amp; Design, and Zoning &amp; Development \u2013 and also encompasses the Housing Department and the Arts Council. Together, we engage and collaborate with community partners, government agencies, businesses and residents to make Cambridge a desirable place to live, work, learn, play, and innovate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the direction of the Manager for Budget &amp; Finance and the Assistant Fiscal Manager, the Fiscal Intern will assist in processing fiscal transactions, tracking activity, and general report preparation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with fiscal staff to complete transactions such as accounts payable review and processing<\/li>\n<li>Monitor fiscal transactions to determine status and update tracking system<\/li>\n<li>May assist in the development of various internal budget\/expenditure reports and reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Review information provided in PeopleSoft Financials for use in preparing various financial reports.<\/li>\n<li>Accurately perform assigned duties in a timely manner<\/li>\n<li>May perform additional projects as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><i><strong>Education &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>College level coursework in business, finance or accounting or equivalent work experience<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience working in an office environment<\/li>\n<li>Public sector experience a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of practical accounting principles<\/li>\n<li>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials a plus<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner<\/li>\n<li>Highly motivated and detail oriented<\/li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize workloads, multitask and meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<li>The City of Cambridge&#8217;s workforce, like the community it serves, is diverse. Shared workstation with a moderate noise level.
