{"id":61160,"date":"2026-07-29T14:25:47","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T14:25:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/stem-curriculum-delivery-specialist\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T08:37:45","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T12:37:45","slug":"stem-curriculum-delivery-specialist","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/stem-curriculum-delivery-specialist\/","title":{"rendered":"STEM Curriculum Delivery Specialist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Come join our team!\u00a0 The 40 hour per week <strong>STEM Curriculum Delivery Specialist<\/strong> is responsible for delivering\u00a0\u00a0engaging, high-quality STEM learning experiences that inspire curiosity, build science capital and foster lifelong participation in STEM.\u00a0 This position serves as the primary facilitator of McWane Science Center\u2019s educational programming while contributing field-based\u00a0expertise\u00a0to the continuous improvement of curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 70% of this position focuses on facilitation and educational delivery, while 30% contributes to curriculum refinement, program evaluation and subject matter\u00a0expertise.<\/p>\n<p>McWane Science Center is a non-profit organization housing 4 floors of hands-on science exhibits, extensive natural history collections and an IMAX Dome theater. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Accountabilities\u00a0and Major Duties<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate standards-based STEM experiences including field trips, outreach, homeschool labs, camps,\u00a0teacher professional\u00a0development, community programs and family workshops.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Adapt\u00a0instruction\u00a0to meet the needs of diverse learners and audiences.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Create welcoming, inclusive, inquiry-based learning environments consistent with the Science Engagement Plan.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Serve as\u00a0subject\u00a0matter expert for assigned content areas.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Provide structured feedback to Curriculum Development Specialists\u00a0regarding\u00a0program effectiveness and participant learning.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Pilot newly developed curriculum and document recommendations for improvement.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Assist\u00a0with revision of facilitation guides and training resources.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Maintain program supplies, equipment, classrooms and outreach materials.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Support museum engagement initiatives and educational animal care as assigned.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Represent McWane Science Center at community events.<\/li>\n<li>Mentor seasonal educators, volunteers, and interns.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Assist\u00a0with the care of the animals in our educational animal collection including feeding, cleaning and animal handling.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with\u00a0a Safety Procedures Program that ensures the safety of Education staff and visitors engaged in educational programs.\u00a0 Compliance with OSHA regulations and MSDS requirements is\u00a0mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Minimum Qualifications<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in science, education, or related field.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Experience teaching or\u00a0facilitating\u00a0STEM learning.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Excellent public speaking and communication skills.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ability to engage learners of all ages and backgrounds\u00a0in a friendly, outgoing, professional manner.<\/li>\n<li>Strong classroom and group management skills.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel throughout Alabama, including occasional overnight travel.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle small animals, including reptiles and marine animals, in program presentations\u00a0required.<\/li>\n<li>Must\u00a0possess\u00a0a valid Driver License that is subject to acceptable annual motor vehicle reports.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Must provide verification of valid\u00a0minimum\u00a0personal vehicle liability insurance as required by State law.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Minimum Physical Qualifications<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sit\/stand for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.<\/li>\n<li>Lift objects\u00a0frequently\u00a0in performing the work (10-20 lbs.\u00a0frequently).<\/li>\n<li>Pull or push objects on a regular basis (50 lbs.).<\/li>\n<li>Grasp object\u00a0utilizing\u00a0the fingers.<\/li>\n<li>Reach for objects above the head or below the waist.<\/li>\n<li>Stoop or crouch by bending at the waist or by bending legs.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to\u00a0operate\u00a0a motor vehicle.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Hearing and visual acuity.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to chemicals,\u00a0fumes\u00a0and vapors that could potentially affect the health of the employee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><strong>Benefits include health, dental, vision and life insurance;
