{"id":59405,"date":"2026-07-17T15:56:40","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T15:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/licensed-practical-nurse-38\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T20:26:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T00:26:20","slug":"licensed-practical-nurse-38","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/licensed-practical-nurse-38\/","title":{"rendered":"Licensed Practical Nurse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LPN &#8211; Fulltime Day or Overnights (7am &#8211; 7pm or 7pm &#8211; 7am)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting Pay rate $28\/hr. &#8211; 30\/hr. with the Sign On Bonus $2,500!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SUMMARY\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to individuals receiving services under the direction of an RN or physician.<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><strong>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><i>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides basic care and medical treatment to individuals receiving services. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Completes health assessments and provides input of health diagnosis to RN or physician for the development of nursing care plan. \u00a0Follows-up on all physician orders and monitors and ensures follow through on individual\u2019s medical\/dental appointments.<\/li>\n<li>Monitors and records medications in a timely manner; acts as a liaison to pharmacy. \u00a0Reviews medication error forms, analyzes errors and makes recommendations for procedural changes. Administers medication as required.<\/li>\n<li>Oversees and monitors staffs who administer medication.\u00a0 Conducts quality assurance checks on health care records.<\/li>\n<li>Provides emergency coverage and\/or care for individuals receiving services.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Maintains confidentiality, respects human rights and practices universal precautions in accordance with Mentor policy.\u00a0 Upholds policy and procedure development related to health care.<\/li>\n<li>Works with external agencies to coordinate services and ensure consistent treatment of clients.<\/li>\n<li>Administers, tracks, and maintains log for staff and individual\u2019s testing.<\/li>\n<li>Provides training for staff including medication administration, universal precautions and infection control.<\/li>\n<li>Provides training for individuals receiving services such as self medication, prescribed treatments, sex education\/STD prevention and smoking cessation.<\/li>\n<li>May be required to coordinate, organize and\/or assist with household activities such as light housekeeping and meal preparation; transport individuals receiving services to planned and\/or necessary activities, appointments. Participates in on call system as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Performs other related duties and activities as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>None Required<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><strong>Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><i>The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and\/or abilities required to perform the job:<\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><i><strong>Education and Experience:\u00a0<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Associates degree in nursing or related field or state certificate<\/li>\n<li>One year experience working with population served in a nursing capacity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><strong>Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current LPN\/LVN licensure for state of residence<\/li>\n<li>Other certifications as required by state licensing regulations such as CPR\/FA and HIV\/AIDS certification, BBP, and ACT training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><strong>Blood Borne Pathogen Category:<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Job requires performance of duties that involve potential for exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
