They should\u00a0have some related\u00a0possess a solid foundation of communications experience (can include coursework and\/or previous internships), including the ability to line edit, draft social media posts,\u00a0make simple website updates, and support\u00a0our marketing and engagement campaigns create and implement communications-driven campaigns, track media hits, and more. They should also possess a strong work ethic; positive, can-do attitude; and commitment to collaboration and teamwork. An interest in international affairs, advocacy, and\/or public diplomacy is an asset. Through this internship, we hope to support candidates seeking careers in communications, specifically in the nonprofit or international exchange field.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Finalist candidates will be required to take and pass a brief writing and editing test.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Core Responsibilities:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Routine communications updates (ex. website, email campaigns, social media, database management)\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Development of communications resources for the Global Ties Network, including templates, toolkits, and other communications\u00a0pieces<\/li>\n<li>Publication production\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Advocacy and fundraising campaigns\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Event communications support\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enrolled as a student during the internship period\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Background in communications, journalism, media, marketing, or related fields\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Desire to pursue a career in communications, public diplomacy, and\/or international affairs\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Ability to pass a short writing and editing test\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Experience in writing and\/or preparing content for websites, email, and social media\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Experience with graphic design (preferably Adobe Creative Suite and\/or Canva) and\/or productivity software (MS Office, Google Drive, etc.) a plus<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to successfully complete a background check<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learning opportunities to engage with U.S. Department of State and other international exchange partners.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Mentorship from Global Ties U.S. staff\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>$3,000 stipend (per semester)<\/li>\n<li>Academic credit and ability to meet other academic program requests\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Well-rounded experience in all aspects of communication work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hybrid or remote<\/li>\n<li>Office location: Washington, DC\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Global Ties U.S. operates on Windows OS (Windows 10+).
