Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lift Louisiana seeks a team of community-oriented, and values-driven people to work on a deep canvassing program in Jefferson and St. Tammany Parishes, LA. Reporting to Lift\u2019s Field Organizer, Canvassers will mobilize voters as a part of Lift\u2019s first ever field program including deep canvassing. Canvassers will be canvassing, base-building, and advocating for abortion rights. The Canvasser position is part-time and runs through December 2026,\u00a0with the possibility of extension into 2027.
\u00a0<\/p>\n

Position Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Innovative community organizing program that centers abortion justice, mobilizes new supporters, sustains existing support, and advances Lift\u2019s mission in St. Tammany and Jefferson Parishes.<\/p>\n

Comprehensive deep canvassing program that entails going door-to-door and talking to voters in the community about abortion.<\/p>\n

Outreach and base-building work to increase voter participation through door knocking.<\/p>\n

Track and input data via Voter Activation Network (VAN) and MiniVan<\/p>\n

Work closely with Lift\u2019s Field Organizer, Deep Canvassing Consultant, and Lift\u2019s Executive Director, and to ensure that the field program is meeting our goals.<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Knowledge and understanding of St. Tammany, Jefferson, and the New Orleans suburbs<\/p>\n

Comfort discussing abortion and reproductive rights<\/p>\n

Ability to execute multiple projects, set priorities, and follow through on plans\u00a0<\/p>\n

Inventive, creative, and problem-solving approach to challenges\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ability to build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and supporters\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alignment with Lift\u2019s values of compassion, collaboration, shifting power, self-determination, transparency and accountability<\/p>\n

Bilingual capacity in Spanish, Vietnamese, and other languages is a plus!<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are looking for people who have leadership experience and excellent communication skills, demonstrated commitment to reproductive justice, and who are dedicated to making lasting, positive change on important issues.<\/p>\n

Experience in canvassing, campaign organizing, community organizing or field organizing preferred.<\/p>\n

Willing to work a flexible schedule evenings and weekends, and some travel required.<\/p>\n

Car and valid driver\u2019s license required for in-state travel.<\/p>\n

Work Environment<\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

This position requires in-state travel and extended periods of time walking outside.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Location<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is a hybrid position. However, work must be performed in Louisiana. Co-working space will be available in New Orleans, Louisiana.<\/p>\n

Mileage reimbursement is given when employees use their own vehicle to get to turf.<\/p>\n

Lift Louisiana is located in New Orleans.<\/p>\n

Compensation:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The salary will be set at $25\/hour, 15-20 hours per week. This is a part-time temporary position with possibility of renewal.\u00a0<\/p>\n
