Through Students 2 Science\u2019s STEM programs, students will build a greater understanding of STEM, enhance technical skills, and be provided with information and guidance on STEM education and career pathways.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is an <i><strong>in-person<\/strong><\/i> position at our Apollo Technology Center in Whippany, NJ.<\/li>\n<li>Interns will receive compensation at the rate of $20 per hour and\/or college credits (with signed approval from appropriate parties within their college or university).<\/li>\n<li>Interns will gain meaningful hands-on work experience, develop technical lab skills, and develop foundational skills for the professional world.<\/li>\n<li>Interns will be immersed in the daily operations of program development and implementation with the support of your internship team and leadership.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Schedule:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<strong>This position is a minimum of 14 hours a week. Interns will work at least two (2) full-day shifts | 8:00 a.m. \u2013 3:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday).\u00a0<\/strong>Internship assignments are based on program capacity and intern availability provided during the selection process. <strong>Final schedules are indicated in offer letters and remain fixed. Failure to maintain the designated final schedule may result in removal from the position.\u00a0<\/strong>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide support for and encourage success for students participating in the day\u2019s laboratory session.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a safe, orderly, and comfortable work environment for all students, teachers, and S2S staff members inside and outside of the lab.<\/li>\n<li>Stage and prepare a clean work environment for the following day.<\/li>\n<li>Assist lab instructors in the daily operations of program development and implementation.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Attend weekly meetings with instruction team and one-on-ones with your project manager.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in all work-readiness and professional development programming and assignments.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>College student from a community college, college, or university.<\/li>\n<li>Major or concentration area is in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar major) or Education\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(Elementary Ed, Secondary Ed, or Special Ed).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completed at least 30 hours of college coursework at the time of applying.<\/li>\n<li>Completed Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus at the high school or college level.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Good auditory and visual skills are required.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check administered by Students 2 Science.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possess strong organization, interpersonal, and proactive problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with youth is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in Spanish is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program Track | Dates:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Elementary: September 21 &#8211; December 11 | Middle School &amp; High School: September 21 &#8211; December 14\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Interns are assigned to a specific track.
