This position is 20 &#8211; 40\u00a0hrs \/ week and is still eligible for benefits!<\/p>\n<p><i>Pay range starts at $19.95\u00a0\/ hr<\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the primary job duties?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><i>Provides supervised and monitored visitation for families and assists in mentoring and coordination of schedules with other Child and Family Aides.<\/i><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arrange and coordinate supervised and\/or monitored visits for parents and children.<\/li>\n<li>Be within sound or sight for supervised visits<\/li>\n<li>Recognize unsafe parenting practices and intervene when safety concerns arise<\/li>\n<li>Model and redirect parent to safe parenting practices.<\/li>\n<li>Contact parents, foster parents, in advance regarding visitation.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain regular communication with the assigned Social Worker.<\/li>\n<li>Report any safety concerns immediately to the Social Worker.<\/li>\n<li>Complete documentation for all visitations.<\/li>\n<li>Provide transportation as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Include parent education\/coaching as requested by the Social Worker.<\/li>\n<li>Clean visitation room after visits as needed. This may include vacuuming, disinfecting, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Conducts safety checks to clients\u2019 homes including drug\/alcohol monitoring.<\/i><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collects UAs and gives breathalyzer tests as requested.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct checks at homes and observe for safety concerns as requested.<\/li>\n<li>Report safety concerns immediately as requested and contact on-call for emergencies.<\/li>\n<li>Document all safety checks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Provides Home and Financial Management (HFM) to child welfare clients.<\/i><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meet regularly with the Ongoing Worker to determine appropriate goals to meet.<\/li>\n<li>Establish budget within limits of resources and obligation as requested.<\/li>\n<li>Teach clients mechanics of budgeting including decision-making about priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients to seek out employment, or other programs to assist with income.<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients to seek out housing and develop working knowledge of housing options.<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients to enhance skills in cleaning, parenting, and basic home management.<\/li>\n<li>Assist clients to bring their home to a safe and clean condition.<\/li>\n<li>Document HFM meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Assist to hold family meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Attend family team meetings and internal staffing meetings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What are the minimum qualifications?<\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalency required<\/li>\n<li>One year experience with child welfare programs or work with children and families strongly preferred<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of mental health and parenting skills strongly preferred<\/li>\n<li>Experience dealing with challenging clients and\/or children under emotional duress strongly preferred<\/li>\n<li>Must be a licensed driver and have access to an insured vehicle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Portage County offers a GREAT\u00a0benefit package, which includes the following;<\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vacation &#8211; available on day one!<\/li>\n<li>Health insurance- your choice of two health plans- (Health Savings Account associated with a High Deductible Health Plan with a County contribution or a PPO Co-pay plan)<\/li>\n<li>Wellness incentive plan offered with health insurance enrollment!
