In everything we do, we build on the energy, experience, and passion of our global Parkinson&#8217;s community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Parkinson\u2019s Foundation is looking for an exceptional undergraduate\/graduate student to work directly with the communications team on an array of digital communications projects. The intern will work with passionate professionals, learn first-hand how to apply best practices in communications and enjoy a real opportunity to make an impact on Parkinson\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage web updates related to the blog and press room<\/li>\n<li>Conduct research and communications audits<\/li>\n<li>Assist with drafting\/editing web content, including blogs, My PD Stories and more<\/li>\n<li>Create videos and digital assets\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Social media management, including reporting and creating content<\/li>\n<li>Gather and organize news media mentions and nationwide press coverage<\/li>\n<li>Generate transcripts to support website accessibility and content enhancements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience\/Skills Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current college student (junior\/senior) or graduate student<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter who takes initiative and is comfortable wearing many hats<\/li>\n<li>Solves problems self-sufficiently, but takes direction well<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented; can be counted on to produce high-quality work<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable working virtually<\/li>\n<li>Creative instinct for video production and social media content creation<\/li>\n<li>Strong writing and online research skills\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Interest in digital communications\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Experience with HTML or website design\/management<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office; Adobe and Canva are a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The communications intern can expect to gain these learning outcomes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in planning and executing digital communications campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Experience in creating social media content and providing team with measurable outcomes<\/li>\n<li>Experience in pitching ideas to a communications team<\/li>\n<li>Experience in participating and contributing to communications department tasks within a non-profit work environment, such as metrics monitoring and assisting with digital communications activities<\/li>\n<li>Experience in applying classroom theory within a real-world non-profit communications team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Please e-mail resume and cover letter to Cathy Whitlock at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Internships@Parkinson.org\">Internships@Parkinson.org<\/a>.
