{"id":45248,"date":"2026-07-10T22:13:44","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T22:13:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/after-school-program-leader\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T08:26:55","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T12:26:55","slug":"after-school-program-leader","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/after-school-program-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"After School Program Leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TITLE:<\/strong>\u00a0After School Program Leader<br \/><strong>REPORTS TO:<\/strong>\u00a0Unit Director\/Area Director\/Site Coordinator<\/p>\n<p>After School Hours &#8211; 2-6pm M-F<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRIMARY FUNCTION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Plan, implement, supervise and promote activities and programs after school for children and youth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY ROLES: (Essential Job Responsibilities)<\/strong><br \/><i>Prepare Youth for Success<\/i><br \/>Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote and stimulate program participation;<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance and role modeling to members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Program Development and Implementation<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for members and visitors to include, but not limited to Project Learn, SMART Moves, Triple Play, Healthy Habits, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the club at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in administering pre\/post assessments, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate programs on a continual basis and ensure programs\/activities are in keeping with gender and cultural diversity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Supervision:<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee proper record keeping and reporting, including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of participation figures, and any member conduct or other issues.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain thorough records of attendance, progress in curriculum, and any member conduct or other issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>May be required to drive Club van.<\/li>\n<li>May be required to answer phones and perform other light administrative duties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>RELATIONSHIPS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Internal:<\/strong>\u00a0Maintain close contact with Club staff and supervisor to receive\/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines\/instructions; instruct; and advise\/counsel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>External:<\/strong>\u00a0Maintain contact with parents or guardians in order to communicate about Club activities, explain or interpret Club guidelines, and address any conduct issues relative to members.<\/p>\n<p>May be required to communicate with or work closely with school principals and classroom instructors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SKILLS\/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School diploma or GED<\/li>\n<li>Experience in working with children<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of youth development<\/li>\n<li>Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deal with the general public (both verbal and written)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth<\/li>\n<li>Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment<\/li>\n<li>Valid State Drivers License (van drivers only)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SKILLS\/KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hours completed towards an elementary or secondary education degree<\/li>\n<li>CPR\/First Aid Certification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>DISCLAIMER:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The information presented indicates the general nature and level of work expected of employees in this classification.
