Officers are required to work flexible hours, one or two evenings per week, to accommodate client\u2019s schedules<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Starting<\/strong> <strong>Salary:\u00a0<\/strong>$56,000<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contact:<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Human Resource Manager at <a href=\"mailto:probation.hr@dupagecounty.gov\"><strong><u>probation.hr@dupagecounty.gov<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The responsibilities of this position include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assessing and developing individualized case plans for each client placed on a period of probation supervision;<\/li>\n<li>Increasing intrinsic motivation for behavior change in clients;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating interventions targeted at risk reduction utilizing the client\u2019s family, community and local treatment agencies;<\/li>\n<li>Supporting behavior change through the application of rewards and sanctions;<\/li>\n<li>Advocating for clients with employers, family members and the Court when appropriate;<\/li>\n<li>Conducting home visits and field visits to assess clients\u2019 living and community situations;<\/li>\n<li>Counseling individuals and\/or families; providing crisis intervention when needed;<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring court conditions and providing accurate and documented information to the Court with testimony as needed; and<\/li>\n<li>Other work as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements for this position include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Behavioral Sciences, including Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, etc., and a minimum of two years of probation, counseling, social work or related human service program work;<\/li>\n<li>Independent decision making;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to plan and organize the work and the schedule to accommodate multiple priorities including Court and offender needs;<\/li>\n<li>Initiative to seek and develop additional resources to reduce the offender\u2019s risk to reoffend;<\/li>\n<li>Working skill in understanding and interpreting laws and regulations;<\/li>\n<li>Considerable skill in dealing effectively with the public and applying professional methods of handling socially maladjusted and emotionally disturbed individuals;<\/li>\n<li>Some skill in observing, diagnosing, and recording behavior patterns of individuals;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to meet the physical demands of working in the field and conducting home visits\u00a0and possess a current, valid Driver\u2019s License with the ability to drive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This position is a part of the bargaining unit AFSME local #3328<\/p>\n<p>Department of Probation &amp;
