{"id":42475,"date":"2026-07-01T20:19:29","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T20:19:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/portage-house-supervisor\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T20:21:55","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T00:21:55","slug":"portage-house-supervisor","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/portage-house-supervisor\/","title":{"rendered":"Portage House Supervisor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Portage County Health &amp; Human Services <\/strong>department is hiring a full-time<strong> Portage House Supervisor<\/strong>.\u00a0 This position will have primary responsibility to develop and oversee all activities and services of Portage House, a rehabilitative halfway house for adult male criminal offenders.<\/p>\n<p><i>Pay range starts at $70,435 \/ yr<\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the primary job duties?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><i>Resident Supervision<\/i><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee and supervise the screening and selection of residents.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for and has authority over residents while they are in the program.<\/li>\n<li>Stays informed of residents&#8217; activities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Provide counseling, advice, assistance, information and referral.<\/li>\n<li>Actively involved in the disciplinary process.<\/li>\n<li>Co-facilitate house meetings and\u00a0treatment groups.<\/li>\n<li>Connect and interact with residents on a daily basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Program Planning, Reporting and Evaluation<\/i><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Direct a community-based residential facility for adult male corrections residents.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and oversee program policy, rules and vision.<\/li>\n<li>Supervises the formulation of program rules, policies, and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Supervises the collection of data on services provided to residents.<\/li>\n<li>Develops and reviews written materials used for data gathering and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Edits all resident departure statements and annual reports.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluates the program on an on-going basis.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures the facility and the program comply with federal, state, and local code requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate treatment providers and services to meet resident need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Recruit, Hire, Train, Supervise and Evaluate Portage House Staff<\/i><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consult with Human Resources in recruitment and hiring process.<\/li>\n<li>Initiate recruitment and hiring as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Recommend hiring and termination.<\/li>\n<li>Supervises and evaluates section personnel based on human resources policies and department work rules.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure new staff and current staff are trained in their duties.<\/li>\n<li>Administer human resources policies as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and execute section staff meetings to provide direction and consultation to section personnel.<\/li>\n<li>Organize and promote staff development through individual guidance, in-service programs and other training events.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to and resolve staff complaints.<\/li>\n<li>Available on call outside of regular work hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What are the minimum qualifications?<\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in human service-related field required.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of three years\u2019 experience with correction residents required.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of three years\u2019 experience with program planning, administration, budgeting, and staff management required.<\/li>\n<li>Any combination of education and experience that provides the equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check\/caregiver background check and maintain status.<\/li>\n<li>Must be a licensed driver and have access to an insured vehicle or ability to obtain one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Portage County offers a GREAT\u00a0benefit package, which includes the following;<\/strong><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vacation &#8211; available on day one!<\/li>\n<li>Health insurance- your choice of two health plans- (Health Savings Account associated with a High Deductible Health Plan with a County contribution or a PPO Co-pay plan)<\/li>\n<li>Wellness incentive plan offered with health insurance enrollment!
