At the Barron Center, our mission is to achieve the highest possible performance outcomes in all aspects of resident care.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Barron Center is actively seeking Registered Nurses for all open shifts. This role involves responsibility for the application of approved nursing techniques and practices in the care of bed or ambulatory patients. Work is performed under the direction of higher-ranking nurses who make any decisions with regard to special treatment or care. RNs will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants as necessary to assure proper care of patients. Full-time and part-time schedules available!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Receives patients upon admission, prepares them for bed and furnishes general bedside care and attention.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assists physicians in examining and treating patients in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Prepares and applies dressing, administers medications as prescribed by the physician; and gives intravenous medications as ordered.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Makes periodic rounds of floor or unit; observes symptoms and takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; assesses resident condition and changes in status.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Keeps clinical charts and reports on the condition of patients on an ongoing basis, showing medications used and treatment and medicine given to the patient.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assists with patient personal care.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Helps change linens and sees that patients have water and are properly cared for; makes frequent rounds to assure comfort and care of patients.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Directs practical nurses as necessary in proper routine and manual, custodial or bedside care activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Responsible for smooth day-to-day operation of the facility on their shift: ensures emergency and non-emergency medical equipment is in proper working order; ensures fire alarms are working, etc<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Completion of an accredited three year diploma course for nurses; a two-year Associate degree or four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Possession of certificate as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Maine State Board of Nurses&#8217; Examiners.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Working knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice, with ability to apply nursing techniques as related to medical and surgical practices.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Up-to-date knowledge of medication administration, hospital dietetics, sanitation, and personal hygiene.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to work as a team member.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to follow oral and written instructions and directions in exact detail and to administer therapeutic prescriptions.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to keep records and charts and to make reports and observations.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional and non-professional employees and with persons served.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Good physical condition and ability to maintain a sympathetic attitude toward physically ill patients.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to exercise tact, initiative, and good judgment<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Up-to-date immunization records are required for all Barron Center staff<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 An annual flu vaccine is required<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A pre placement physical is required<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications accepted until July 10, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is a union position, CEBA Grade 15M, salary range starting at $37.64\/hour, plus any applicable shift differentials.
