CPC is the nation\u2019s largest Asian American social services organization and serves as a trusted community anchor to over 80,000 community members who are served by CPC annually through 50+ high-quality programs and services across 35 sites in New York City. (For more information, please visit: https:\/\/www.cpc-nyc.org)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROGRAM SUMMARY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Funded through the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides youth ages 14 to 24 years old with project-based learning opportunities and paid, summer work experience for up to six weeks in July and August. Participants work in entry-level positions across a variety of sectors and industries, and are provided with workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy, continuing education and other life.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with recruitment and enrollment of selected participants<\/li>\n<li>Follow up with existing worksites to ensure their continued participation<\/li>\n<li>Develop new partnerships with a variety of sectors and industries<\/li>\n<li>Conduct and facilitate work readiness training, interactive project-based learning workshops and program orientation<\/li>\n<li>Design and facilitate informative workshops related to positive youth development, such as life skills, leadership skills, work readiness, financial literacy and higher education and healthy living<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the scheduling of guest speakers, community service opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Maintain participants\u2019 attendance and progress<\/li>\n<li>Attend meetings and professional development training as required by CPC and funders<\/li>\n<li>Fulfill other related duties as outlined by the Program Director<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>College student majoring in education or social science preferred, but not required<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience working with high school youth in a classroom setting; knowledge of teen and immigrant issues helpful<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills and Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of MS office applications and virtual platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Webex.<\/li>\n<li>Bilingual; fluency in English and any of the following languages Arabic\/Chinese\/Spanish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$22.00 &#8211; $27.00 per hour; 18 \u2013 25 hours per week with occasional weekends through the end of August 2025<\/li>\n<li>CPC offers eligible temporary staff members mandatory benefits, including paid New York State sick time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOW TO APPLY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested individuals should submit their resume, along with a cover letter addressed to Will Chan, when applying online via CPC\u2019s website:\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paycomonline.net\/v4\/ats\/web.php\/jobs?clientkey=4D1879D5004C5B7778BD5E6084A5AFFD\">https:\/\/www.cpc-nyc.org\/jobs<\/a>\u00a0or selected online job boards.
