The pay rate for this position is $17.25\/hour.*<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>**This part-time internship requires the availability and ability to work a minimum of 12 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from August 24, 2026, through December 4, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition, applicants must be available to work the following mandatory hours:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Saturday, October 31, 2026: Daytime hours<\/li>\n<li>Sunday, November 1, 2026: Daytime hours<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday, November 3, 2026: Daytime and evening hours (Election Day)<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The required work schedule, including the mandatory dates and hours identified above, is an essential function and condition of this internship. Applicants must be able to commit to and maintain this availability throughout the internship.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>An applicant&#8217;s availability to satisfy these scheduling requirements will be considered in the hiring process. Following hire, the intern is expected to maintain the required availability for the duration of the internship. Strong communication, organizational and computer skills.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><u>SPECIFIC DUTIES: <\/u>to be performed satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Follow election laws of Iowa.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Register Johnson County residents to vote and update registration records by accurately completing appropriate forms according to Iowa law.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Enter, update, delete or modify voter registration information in a computer system.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Generate lists and reports from internal and statewide registration systems and produce printed or electronic copies of segments of the lists as requested.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Produce, edit and revise correspondence including but not limited to e-mails, memos, reports, notices, forms, mailing labels, manuals, and special instructions.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Scan and file documents and maintain voter records on statewide system.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Process and distribute absentee ballots as requested by mail. Process in-person and satellite requests for absentee ballots, completing all supporting documentation and reports and entering all necessary information on absentee, voter registration and poll-worker software.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Represent Johnson County and participates in training\/education opportunities and work- related meetings as requested.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with County policies, procedures, and safety practices.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Attend work regularly at the designated place and time.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Work Election Day in November.<br \/>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Any other job-related duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supplemental Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Johnson County is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
