The Youth Development Specialist should possess empathy and a deep understanding of the needs of vulnerable youth populations while actively working to dismantle barriers such as poverty and limited access to opportunities stemming from inequality and economics insecurity.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a full-time, 35 hour per week position.<\/li>\n<li>Monday-Friday.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Some evening hours may be required.<\/li>\n<li>Due to the nature of this job, this individual must be flexible with their schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Will be required to travel between youth centers throughout Rhode Island.<\/li>\n<li>May be required to work at any CCAP location.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Associate or bachelor&#8217;s degree, preferred<\/li>\n<li>2 years&#8217; experience in related field and\/or relevant life experiences.<\/li>\n<li>Must have demonstrated case management skills and experience, knowledge of youth development<\/li>\n<li>Strong passion for working with at-risk and minority youth<\/li>\n<li>Ability to motivate and encourage others, even in challenging situations<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft and Google platforms<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license and proof of vehicle liability insurance<\/li>\n<li>Provide\/maintain all required immunizations and\/or vaccinations<\/li>\n<li>Complete all required background checks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide case management to youth\/young adults ages 14 \u2013 24 enrolled in employment and\u00a0education programs.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct comprehensive intake and assessments on clients.<\/li>\n<li>Monitors cases by verifying clients\u2019 attendance; observing and evaluating service strategy\u00a0and responses; advocating for needed services; obtaining additional resources; intervening\u00a0in crises; providing personal support.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and guide youth through a service\/plan in accordance with provisions stated by\u00a0grant.<\/li>\n<li>Track and record case information, complete forms and produce monthly attendance and\u00a0case note reports.<\/li>\n<li>Answer inquiries from potential program partners and incoming youth.<\/li>\n<li>Develop ways to retain youth (ages 14-24) through motivation and encouragement.<\/li>\n<li>Outreach and network with other youth serving programs and High Schools.<\/li>\n<li>Provide client support services such as advocacy, mentorship, or resources to youth\/young\u00a0adults ages 14-24 enrolled in employment and education programs.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in program development and workshop facilitation that will encourage and\u00a0motivate youth to engage in our program.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct detailed evaluations on clients to develop a service plan that will guide youth\u00a0through our program.<\/li>\n<li>Track and record case information for each client such as producing monthly attendance or\u00a0writing case note reports and meeting with client\u2019 monthly to re-evaluate their service plan.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to travel outside of the office and into the communities we serve to connect\u00a0and network with other youth serving programs like the Rhode Island Training School (RITS)\u00a0and various High Schools across Rhode Island.<\/li>\n<li>Ability and opportunity to travel and work with staff and our diverse populations of youth at all\u00a04 Learn to Earn locations.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to create and\/or implement various workshops for youth, including Life Skills,\u00a0College and Career Readiness, Digital Literacy, Healthy Relationships, Financial Literacy,\u00a0and others as youth needs dictate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our comprehensive benefits package includes 403(b), health insurance, vision and dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement accounts, tuition reimbursement up to $1,000 annually, an Employee Assistance Program, generous vacation, sick and personal days, and up to 13 paid holidays for all eligible employees.
