We don\u2019t audit taxes or private businesses. We do however audit any state entity that receives taxpayer dollars. Our work impacts the programs and services you use every day. We check if taxpayer dollars are used correctly and if programs are doing things the right way, and we\u2019d love for you to join our team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Interns at the State Auditor\u2019s Office receive hands-on experience in the field of government auditing. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced accountants and CPAs to provide support in all aspects of government auditing. A typical day for you might include: performing tests on budgets and expenditures, verifying accuracy and completeness of financial information, and communicating with audit clients.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking for someone to work 20 to 30 hours per week. You\u2019ll start at an hourly pay rate of $20 per hour, with the potential for pay raises based on performance. Other benefits include random baked goods in the breakroom and of course working with fabulous people.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>What We Need You to Have:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working towards a bachelor\u2019s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related area.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively communicate both when speaking and writing with other team members and audit clients.<\/li>\n<li>Successful completion of the hiring process including reference, background, and criminal record checks.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.<\/li>\n<li>Critical thinking (we know you\u2019ve got this!) and analytical ability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>It\u2019d Be Great if You Had:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Things Our Attorney Told Us We Have to Include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants must complete the State of North Dakota online application, along with uploading a cover letter, addressing how all minimum requirements are met, a current r\u00e9sum\u00e9, and an unofficial college transcript.\u00a0 Applications must be completed by 11:59 pm on the posted closing date.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For more information or if you need accommodation or assistance in the application or selection process contact:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Heidi Morman<\/p>\n<p>Office of the State Auditor<\/p>\n<p>600 E.
