{"id":27766,"date":"2026-06-04T19:53:58","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T19:53:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/real-estate-data-collector\/"},"modified":"2026-07-04T08:21:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-04T12:21:38","slug":"real-estate-data-collector","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/real-estate-data-collector\/","title":{"rendered":"Real Estate Data Collector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Purpose of Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to measure and collect data on real estate for tax valuation purposes under the direction of the assigned supervisor for Greene County.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Identify property to be appraised on maps by, but not limited: to the use of legal description, review of building permits, and property appraisal records.<\/p>\n<p>Collects field data to prepare and complete records for the assessment of real or personal property.<\/p>\n<p>Record data necessary for valuation, including, but not limited to: measuring real property improvements and or contacting property owners for information on real or personal property.<\/p>\n<p>Operate computer to enter data from field reviews into Computed Assisted Mass Appraisal System to generate preliminary property appraisals and assessments.<\/p>\n<p>Contact individuals to gather information pertaining to the listing of property for assessment purposes. The information is then assigned or otherwise conveyed to the appraiser responsible for assessments in that area.<\/p>\n<p>Operate digital camera, transfer, and archive digital images to file server and database.<\/p>\n<p>Develops and maintains positive professional relationships with the general public and other employees.<\/p>\n<p>Answer public inquiries in the in and out of the office to provide information concerning property and valuations.<\/p>\n<p>Performs other duties as necessary for the proper performance of this position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Tasks and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures utilized in the collection of information to appraise real or personal property for tax assessment purposes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Beginning knowledge of state laws governing real or personal property assessment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Maintain working knowledge of the geographic layout of Greene County aided by highway and street maps, topography maps, aerial photos, and plat maps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>High school diploma or equivalent plus specialized schooling and\/or job education in a specific skill area, data processing, clerical\/administrative, equipment operation, etc.; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Requires knowledge of PC and tablet operations in a Windows environment. Familiarity with computer spreadsheet or statistical applications preferred. Valid Missouri motor vehicle operator\u2019s license required.
