Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>Position Overview<\/p>\n<p>The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Statewide Telecommunications Administrator.\u00a0 Under administrative direction, this position will direct, coordinate, and review the activities of the statewide telecommunications program for the Department of Children and Family Services.\u00a0 The position will provide guidance regarding available technology and cost effectiveness of proposed telecommunications systems and devices.\u00a0 This position will also monitor unit activities to ensure compliance with Department policies and federal and state laws, rules, and statutes.\u00a0 Additionally, the position will confer with subordinate manager regarding telephone, wireless, and data issues, and\/or requests related to cost factors, equipment information and analysis, new\/pending orders and projects, billing interpretation and reconciliation, and deadlines.\u00a0 This position is a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and dedicated to ensuring the effectiveness of the Department\u2019s vital telecommunications program.\u00a0 DCFS offers a competitive salary plan, excellent benefits, and a pension program.\u00a0 The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to multi-task.\u00a0 We invite all qualified applicants to apply to join our innovative team to help make a difference in the lives of children and families.<\/p>\n<p>Essential Functions<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serves as Statewide Telecommunications Administrator<\/li>\n<li>Confers with subordinate manager regarding telephone, wireless, and data issues, and\/or requests related to cost\u00a0factors, equipment information and analysis, new\/pending orders and projects, billing interpretation and\u00a0reconciliation, and deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Serves as working supervisor<\/li>\n<li>Attends meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to maintain current knowledge on voice and\u00a0information technology products<\/li>\n<li>Develops training on various telecommunications systems<\/li>\n<li>Oversees telecommunications audits to determine potential areas for cost reduction and elimination of\u00a0unnecessary expenses<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated\u00a0above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with<br \/>coursework in business or public administration<\/li>\n<li>Requires three years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Specialized Skills<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Of the noted experience, requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the administration\/implementation of\u00a0telecommunications systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 years of professional experience in the administration\/implementation of telecommunications systems<\/li>\n<li>2 years of professional experience in a public or business organization utilizing extensive knowledge of telecommunications\u00a0systems and operations<\/li>\n<li>3 years of professional experience in a public or business organization utilizing the ability to develop and manage a\u00a0statewide program<\/li>\n<li>3 years of professional experience in a public or business organization utilizing the ability to develop, install, and evaluate\u00a0new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards<\/li>\n<li>3 years supervising telecommunications staff or developing training on telecommunications systems for a public or\u00a0business organization<\/li>\n<li>3 years of experience in a public or business organization utilizing computer skills, particularly in Excel, and a working\u00a0knowledge of other Microsoft Office products (Outlook and Word) or similar programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Conditions of Employment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Requires ability to pass a background check<\/li>\n<li>Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties.
