Grant Writing Intern<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Type:<\/strong> Internship\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Department:<\/strong> Development &amp; Fundraising\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports To:<\/strong> Grants Manager \/ Development Director<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Write Grants That Change the World<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The International Sibling Society (ISS), a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit with partnerships across 190+ countries, is seeking Grant Writing Interns to research, identify, and write compelling grant proposals using our new ISS Grant Management Platform \u2014 a purpose-built, AI-powered system that streamlines every stage of the grant lifecycle, from opportunity discovery to submission tracking.<\/p>\n<p>This is a rare opportunity to gain hands-on grant writing experience at a globally active nonprofit, working directly with real funding opportunities, real deadlines, and a real platform designed to maximize your success.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the ISS Grant Management Platform to search, filter, and identify grant opportunities matched to ISS programs<\/li>\n<li>Conduct in-depth research on funders, including giving priorities, eligibility requirements, and past grantees<\/li>\n<li>Draft compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, executive summaries, and project narratives<\/li>\n<li>Tailor proposal language to align with each funder&#8217;s mission, priorities, and application requirements<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with program staff to gather data, impact stories, and supporting documentation<\/li>\n<li>Track submission deadlines and application status using the Platform&#8217;s Submission Pipeline<\/li>\n<li>Assist with grant reporting for previously awarded grants<\/li>\n<li>Maintain organized records of all grant applications and funder correspondence in the Platform<\/li>\n<li>Support the AI Grant Matching Assistant to refine grant opportunity recommendations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What You&#8217;ll Gain:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Real-world grant writing experience with a globally active 501(c)(3) nonprofit<\/li>\n<li>A portfolio of completed grant proposals and letters of inquiry<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience with the ISS Grant Management Platform \u2014 an AI-powered grant lifecycle tool<\/li>\n<li>Mentorship from experienced grant writers and nonprofit development professionals<\/li>\n<li>Letter of recommendation and certificate of completion<\/li>\n<li>Access to the International Sibling Society alumni network<\/li>\n<li>Potential for academic credit on your college transcript (subject to university approval)<\/li>\n<li>Eligibility for CPT (Curricular Practical Training) or OPT (Optional Practical Training) for international students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor&#8217;s or master&#8217;s degree program in English, Communications, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Social Work, International Relations, or related field<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written communication skills \u2014 clear, persuasive, and concise<\/li>\n<li>Strong research skills and ability to synthesize complex information into compelling narratives<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all written materials<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a remote environment<\/li>\n<li>Genuine passion for social impact, global equity, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development experience<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with grant databases (Foundation Directory, Candid, Grants.gov, or similar)<\/li>\n<li>Experience with CRM or grant management software<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of nonprofit program evaluation and impact measurement<\/li>\n<li>Bilingual or multilingual skills (a plus for international funder outreach)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Details<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Location Type: Remote (work from anywhere)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Schedule: Part-time (15\u201320 hours per week, flexible scheduling)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Duration: 12 weeks (with possibility of extension)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Start Date: Flexible \u2014 rolling admissions with cohort start dates in February, May, and August 2026\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Compensation: Unpaid internship \u2014 eligible for CPT or OPT.
