Occupational Therapist<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Description<\/p>\n

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n

Assesses patient ‘s ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.<\/p>\n

Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Documents findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.<\/p>\n

Educates the patient and family\/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and\/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection\/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.<\/p>\n

Oversees the care provided by designated individuals according to established regulations and practice standards.<\/p>\n

Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.<\/p>\n

Performs other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

EDUCATION<\/p>\n

Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy, or related area as required to obtain licensure in state of practice<\/p>\n

EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n

No experience required<\/p>\n

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n

Constant standing.<\/p>\n

Frequent lifting\/carrying and pushing\/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.<\/p>\n

Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.<\/p>\n

Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and\/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.<\/p>\n

Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).<\/p>\n

Frequent walking, reaching, gripping and keyboard use\/data entry.<\/p>\n

Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot\/leg and hand\/arm movements.<\/p>\n

Occasional lifting\/carrying and pushing\/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.<\/p>\n

Occasional lifting\/moving patients.<\/p>\n

Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.<\/p>\n

Occasional driving.<\/p>\n

Rare crawling.<\/p>\n

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND\/OR CERTIFICATIONS<\/p>\n

Resuscitation Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 day of employment. Other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.
