Duties include, but are not limited to:<\/li>\n<li>Work directly with inmates in a locked facility;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and control access to the facility and restricted areas;<\/li>\n<li>Man an armed post (this requires annual firearms certification);<\/li>\n<li>Monitor facility perimeter, detain unidentified pedestrians and\/or vehicles;<\/li>\n<li>Operate a variety of mechanical doors, security devices, equipment and alarms;<\/li>\n<li>Control movement of inmates throughout the daily schedule;<\/li>\n<li>Escort and transport inmates in authorized state vehicles;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor visiting areas;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct formal, informal and emergency counts;<\/li>\n<li>Cross check and maintain movement logs;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct searches for contraband (this may include canine, metal detector, pat, perimeter, strip and vehicle searches);<\/li>\n<li>Inspect facility and cells to maintain health, safety and sanitation standards;<\/li>\n<li>Inspect inmate mail and property;<\/li>\n<li>Utilize proper protocols when responding to emergency situations, such as fights, medical emergencies, fires and escapes;<\/li>\n<li>Follow established tool and key control, ensure proper storage and documentation;<\/li>\n<li>Attend roll call;<\/li>\n<li>Document incidents utilize established reporting practices;<\/li>\n<li>Communicate pertinent information to coworkers and supervisors.<\/li>\n<li>Positions are subject to working additional hours and\/or shifts to maintain safety and security of facilities that are open 24\/7.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be appointed to this position<\/li>\n<li>High School Diploma or a GED certificate<\/li>\n<li>Must be at least 18 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Possess a valid and unrestricted, driver\u2019s license;
