We\u2019re looking for an ambitious, resourceful journalist who\u2019s hungry to chase original, hard-news stories viewers won\u2019t see anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re a high-energy storyteller who loves creating content for TV, web and social media, you\u2019ll fit right in. You\u2019ll get hands-on training in every part of TV news production along with opportunities to anchor and work with modern, industry-leading equipment.<\/p>\n<p>We invest in training and technology so our journalists can grow, and our newsroom can keep leading the market. If you\u2019re driven, curious and ready to learn with a talented team, we\u2019d love to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong>\u00a0(include but not limited to)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pitch and produce original, leadable stories daily for on\u2011air broadcasts and digital platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Investigate tips and information using strong research and critical thinking to uncover the deeper story.<\/li>\n<li>Shoot, write, edit and upload video, photos and stories optimized for TV, web and social media.<\/li>\n<li>Cultivate local sources and develop relationships that provide timely, community\u2011focused reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Report on\u2011air, coordinate live shots and occasionally anchor as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Perform reliably under deadline pressure while exercising sound news judgment and ethical standards.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate respectfully with newsroom teammates and contribute to a fast\u2011paced, audience\u2011first environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong>\u00a0(include but not limited to)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in communications, journalism or related field preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience as a multimedia journalist and on\u2011air anchor preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent news judgment and the ability to tell compelling stories across platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with broadcast newsroom workflows; experience with ENPS and Edius a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Reliable transportation, valid driver\u2019s license and ability to pass a drivers record check.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Imagine living in the &#8220;Nature\u2019s Air-Conditioned City&#8221; of Bluefield, WV, nestled amidst the majestic Appalachian Mountains!
