Provides exemplary personalized and professional service. Learns how a Funeral Director implements choices made by the families\/legal representative regarding the funeral, final disposition of the body and memorialization of the individual. Interacts with the family to fulfill death care needs. Ensures customer needs are addressed.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learns to arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized and caring manner consistent with company policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Learns to negotiate and create acceptable funeral contracts<\/li>\n<li>Handles contracts, legal documents, and collection of monies or insurance in accordance with company policies.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures client families are informed of special recognition\/services available for veterans and ensures the delivery of selected recognition\/services.<\/li>\n<li>Confirms authorization to proceed with the service arrangements<\/li>\n<li>Verifies identification of the deceased and authorization for embalming<\/li>\n<li>Learns how to arrange for the interment or cremation of human remains<\/li>\n<li>Adheres to all company and regulatory requirements<\/li>\n<li>Cares for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks which may include:\n<ul>\n<li>Removals and transfers<\/li>\n<li>Lifting of deceased human remains<\/li>\n<li>Dressing and casketing<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating and assisting with funeral service and visitation<\/li>\n<li>Delivery of flowers, caskets, urn, photos and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client families<\/li>\n<li>Setting of chairs and the removal, proper care and storage of these items<\/li>\n<li>Removals and transfers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Assists with funeral services by:\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinating the parking of cars<\/li>\n<li>Ushering<\/li>\n<li>Driving funeral vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Assisting at chapel and church services<\/li>\n<li>Assisting at the cemetery<\/li>\n<li>Delivering flowers, caskets, urn, photos and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client families<\/li>\n<li>Setting up chairs and the removing, properly caring for and storing of these items<\/li>\n<li>Participating at special functions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Provides aftercare in absence of Family Service Counselor. Aftercare includes delivery of:\n<ul>\n<li>Documentation<\/li>\n<li>Stationery<\/li>\n<li>Information on insurance, health benefits and pension,<\/li>\n<li>Pre-arrangements for next of kin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Ensures potential pre-need referrals are shared with Family Service Counselors<\/li>\n<li>Completes and accurately prepares of all documents related to services, cremations, maintenance, and any other type of data entry<\/li>\n<li>Assists with general office duties such as preparing reports as needed<\/li>\n<li>Assists with the maintenance of vehicles, the facility and property<\/li>\n<li>Receives caskets and other funeral home supplies as well as place into inventory<\/li>\n<li>Ensures refreshments are available (where allowed by law)<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School diploma or general equivalency degree (or diploma)<\/li>\n<li>Completion of or currently enrolled in a degree training program at an accredited mortuary college or technical school specializing in funeral service or mortuary science.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Typically requires a minimum of 6 months experience in a funeral home, crematory or cemetery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Certification\/Licenses<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must meet all licensing requirement in applicable state\/province as required by law as prescribed by each state board<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of computers and some software including MS Office products required<\/li>\n<li>High level of compassion and integrity<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multi task and set priorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work CONDITIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions<\/li>\n<li>Limited amount of local and\/or multiple location traveling required<\/li>\n<li>Professional Dress is required when in contact with families.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Work Postures<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per day<\/li>\n<li>Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day<\/li>\n<li>Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Work Hours<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working beyond \u201cstandard\u201d hours as the need
