At the Barron Center, our mission is to achieve the highest possible performance outcomes in all aspects of resident care.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This licensed work involves the performance of a wide variety of assigned nursing duties in an extended care facility. All work is performed under the direction of the professional nursing staff, and LPNs may supervise the work of Certified Nursing Assistants.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 May attend and participate in team conferences.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 May order nursing supplies.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Assists as needed with resident personal care.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 May function as charge nurse.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Performs such nursing duties as taking temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; applying dressings and bandages; giving medications, enemas, hypodermics; offers bedside care to patients; assesses residents for changes in condition periodically.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Maintains and updates residents&#8217; charts on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Provides comfort and emotional support to residents and their family<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Considerable experience as a trained practical nurse; graduation from a practical school of nursing recognized by the Maine State Board of Nurses&#8217; Examiners; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Must possess current State of Maine registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Working knowledge of nursing theory and practice with ability to apply appropriate nursing techniques.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Working knowledge of the department&#8217;s practices and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Up-to-date knowledge of medication administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to work as a health team member and to follow instructions and supervision.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to exercise tact, initiative, and good judgment in dealing with people.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to keep records and charts and to make reports and observations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Up-to-date immunization records are required for all Barron Center staff<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 An annual flu vaccine is required<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A pre placement physical is required<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline Extended &#8211; Applications accepted through June 12, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Salary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is an on-call position with a starting hourly rate of $35\/hour.
