{"id":20230,"date":"2026-06-16T17:43:44","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T17:43:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/hearing-officer-1-ny-helps\/"},"modified":"2026-06-25T11:41:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T15:41:10","slug":"hearing-officer-1-ny-helps","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/hearing-officer-1-ny-helps\/","title":{"rendered":"Hearing Officer 1 (NY HELPS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Hearing Officer, in the Bureau of Special Hearings within the<br \/>Division of Legal Affairs, will conduct administrative hearings<br \/>related to the State Central Register of Child Abuse and<br \/>Maltreatment (\u201cSCR\u201d), child care\/daycare program licensing,<br \/>foster care removals, adoption eligibility, adoption subsidies,<br \/>KinGap, and family type homes.<br \/>The Hearing Officer will:<br \/>\u2022 Conduct thorough hearings in a manner that is fair, impartial<br \/>and orderly.<br \/>\u2022 Ensure that the record is fully developed and properly<br \/>maintained.<br \/>\u2022 Manage electronic evidence and operate virtual hearings via<br \/>Webex.<br \/>\u2022 Issue subpoenas and rule on objections with respect to the<br \/>conduct of the hearing, including any objection to the<br \/>introduction of evidence.<br \/>\u2022 Render or recommend decisions.
