Right now, collective barraging rights in Salisbury are under threat. This campaign is fighting to protect workers&#8217; rights and collective bargaining powers by advancing a citizen-led effort. As a petitioner, you will engage voters directly and get them to sign this ballot initiative to support critical campaign finance reform.<\/p>\n<p>Petitioning is all about connecting with people face-to-face, having meaningful conversations, and inspiring them to take action on important issues. We spend our days outdoors, in public spaces to engage with community members.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><i>This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication &amp; Advocacy, Community Outreach &amp; Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>Get paid well!<\/strong> Petition Circulator positions start at $23\/hour. Shifts run from 11:30 a.m.\u20137:30 p.m. Tuesday\u2013Sunday, with the possibility to work part-time or full-time. Positions start immediately and run through June 19th, with the possibility of extension.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Petition Circulator Responsibilities<\/strong> ($23\/hr):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner<\/li>\n<li>Deliver a compelling campaign message, and collect petition signatures from voters<\/li>\n<li>Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills<\/li>\n<li>Strictly follow the campaign&#8217;s safety protocols<\/li>\n<li>Strictly adhere to all local and state circulator laws<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Team Lead Responsibilities<\/strong> ($25\/hr):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Petition Circulator Responsibilities plus:<\/li>\n<li>Manage a small group of circulators out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day<\/li>\n<li>Ensure each circulator has all of the materials they need to be safe and successful<\/li>\n<li>Assist directors with circulator training and administrative work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The ideal candidate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passionate about workers\u2019 rights and fostering democracy<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone<\/li>\n<li>Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible<\/li>\n<li>Open to new opportunities and interested in building campaign skills<\/li>\n<li>Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community<\/li>\n<li>Can work and problem-solve collaboratively as necessary<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience working in a public-facing role like canvassing, petitioning, customer service, sales, or service industry is a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Pay:<\/strong> $23\/hr for Petition Circulators and $25\/hr for Team Leaders. We offer driver bonuses, paid training, sick pay, and bonuses for friend referrals.
