Step into a leadership role in South Carolina and help expand access to mental health support, education, and resources where they are needed most.<\/p>\n<p>The National Mental Health Corps is dedicated to addressing the mental health workforce crisis by expanding access to mental health education, resources, and community-based support across the country.<\/p>\n<p>National Mental Health Corps AmeriCorps members serve at host sites to strengthen local mental health capacity through outreach, education, partnership development, and program support.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At SC Empowerment Centre, this role supports the delivery and expansion of community mental health initiatives designed to promote wellness, reduce stigma, and improve access to care.<\/p>\n<p>Members contribute directly to program development, community engagement, and evaluation efforts while gaining hands-on experience in mental health programming, nonprofit operations, and public service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Training &amp; Professional Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in all required evidence-based or evidence-informed mental health trainings provided by NMHC and the host site<\/li>\n<li>Attend NMHC trainings, meetings, and compliance activities to ensure readiness for service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program Support &amp; Capacity Building<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support planning and implementation of mental health programming, events, and special initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Assist in strengthening host site outreach and service capacity through ongoing projects and community-based efforts<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to grant writing and reporting to support program sustainability and growth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Community Outreach &amp; Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct outreach to increase awareness of local mental health services and resources<\/li>\n<li>Deliver presentations, workshops, and educational sessions on mental health topics<\/li>\n<li>Support efforts to reduce stigma and promote mental wellness in the community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Partnership Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and mental health service providers<\/li>\n<li>Support development of referral pathways and collaborative partnerships<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Marketing &amp; Communications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with the promotion of programs and events through social media, flyers, newsletters, and other outreach channels<\/li>\n<li>Support communication efforts to increase community engagement and participation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong interest in mental health, community service, and public health<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of mental health challenges and available resources preferred<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to reducing stigma around mental illness and substance use disorders<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<li>Professionalism, discretion, and respect for confidentiality<\/li>\n<li>Ability to problem-solve, adapt, and maintain a positive approach to service<\/li>\n<li>At least an Associate\u2019s degree required<\/li>\n<li>Must pass required background checks<\/li>\n<li>Reliable transportation required<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace required<\/li>\n<li>Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Position Details &amp;
