Full-time Communications Director to support external communications for the Assembly Member, with support and oversight provided by the Chief of Staff. This position will serve as a communication bridge between the Assembly Member\u2019s office, the press, and audiences that include the residents of District 85 and New York State. The ideal candidate understands the values and positions held by the Assembly Member and will be able to synthesize complex policy issues into clear and persuasive narratives with close attention to accuracy and nuance. This individual will report to the Chief of Staff. This is not a remote or hybrid position.<\/p>\n
Schedule:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Monday-Friday 9a-5p<\/p>\n Salary:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n $60,000 -$70,000 DOE<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Qualifications for Success:<\/p>\n \u2756A demonstrated commitment to the policy and community priorities of the Assembly Member.<\/p>\n \u2756 Deep knowledge of and cultural competency in engaging with the diverse, multicultural, and immigrant communities of Assembly District 85<\/p>\n \u2756 Exceptional writing, copy-editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling content tailored for both digital and print media<\/p>\n \u2756 Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with a high degree of efficiency, organization, and attention to detail<\/p>\n \u2756 Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to both offer and receive feedback in a constructive and solutions-oriented manner<\/p>\n \u2756 Experience cultivating and maintaining respectful, professional relationships within fast-paced, mission-driven environments<\/p>\n \u2756 Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, including Google Workspace and Canva; familiarity with additional communications or design platforms a plus<\/p>\n \u2756 Willingness and ability to work in office and travel throughout the district and across New York City to support the Assembly Member as needed; occasional travel to Albany may be required.
