The Village anticipates hiring at or close to the starting pay of the position\u2019s pay-range.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong><u>SUMMARY OF THE POSITION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">This is an entry-level secretarial classification working under direct supervision within the Village performing\u00a0 general administrative support functions.\u00a0 Incumbents in this classification also perform routine and non-routine duties with a variety of related tasks in the Police Department. The distinguishing characteristics of this classification include responsibility for performing general secretarial and clerical support duties requiring some independent judgment and initiative at times, and knowledge of the operating policies and procedures of the assigned section. Work is of routine difficulty and is reviewed for progress and conformance to established procedures by the Records Supervisor, Assistant Records Supervisor or his\/her designee.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY FOR THIS POSITION?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><i><strong>The maximum pay for this position is within the top 25% of pay for comparable positions in 13 communities around the Village of Addison.\u00a0<\/strong><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><i><strong>If an employee\u2019s performance is satisfactory, eligible employees will receive an annual, general-wage-adjustment of between 2.5% and 3% in 2026, and an annual merit increase of 3% until they reach the maximum step in their grade; that is a 5.5% &#8211; 6% increase in pay within a year of hire.<\/strong><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><i><strong>Employees have the option to join a PPO medical plan through Aetna, dental insurance with Delta Dental and vision insurance with VSP. They also have an option of participating in over six (6) voluntary benefit plans.<\/strong><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><i><strong>Employees who choose to join the Village\u2019s medical insurance plan will pay <u>nothing<\/u> for insurance coverage for themselves and eligible dependents. Further, participants in the\u00a0 high deductible health plan will have their health savings accounts funded by the Village of Addison at: $2,000 for single coverage; $4,000 for employee + 1 coverage, and $6,000 for family coverage on an annual basis.\u00a0<\/strong><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><i><strong>Full-time employees receive two (2) times their annual salary in life insurance at no cost.\u00a0<\/strong><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><i><strong>Tuition reimbursement is available and approved training paid for by the Village of Addison.\u00a0<\/strong><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><i><strong>Work\/life balance is strongly supported in Addison.\u00a0<\/strong><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><i><strong>Average tenure of current employees is over 11 years.\u00a0<\/strong><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>HOW TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Applications can be obtained at the Village Hall either in the Administration Department, Room 2100, or downloaded from the Village\u2019s website at\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.addisonadvantage.org\">www.addisonadvantage.org<\/a>. In addition, this policy bars the hiring or employment of an employee&#8217;s relatives in any position that would:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong>Have the potential for creating an adverse impact on work performance; or<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong>Create either an actual conflict of interest or the appearance of a conflict of interest, such as the relative having an auditing or control relationship to the employee&#8217;s job.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u201cRelatives\u201d (including blood\/step\/in-law\/adopted\/legal guardian) are defined as spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, child, uncle, aunt, grandparent, grandchild, or any individual with whom an employee has a close personal relationship, such as a domestic partner, co-habitant, or significant other. The same prohibitions apply to employees who marry, cohabitate, or become related by marriage.\u00a0 The provisions of this policy are not limited to personal or familial relationships amongst supervisors, managers, and subordinates.
