About The Community Group (TCG):<\/strong>
The Community Group (TCG) is a private non-profit\u00a0organization,\u00a0based in Lawrence, MA whose mission is to create, manage, and nurture high-quality programs focused on education and related services that support families. TCG was founded in 1970 as the Community Day Care Center of\u00a0Lawrence, and\u00a0has grown to manage a successful charter public school (Community Day Charter Public School), early education and care programs, out-of-school time programming, and workforce development initiatives.\u00a0<\/p>\n

About the Program \/ Department:<\/strong>
The IT Department provides on-site and remote technical support to over 500 staff members and supports more than 1,000 devices across TCG and CDCPS programs. The team works collaboratively across multiple locations to ensure reliable access to technology for staff and students.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Job Summary:<\/strong>
The IT Summer Intern will support the IT team during peak summer operations, with a primary focus on hands-on device\u00a0refresh\u00a0and classroom technology readiness across school sites. This role is ideal for candidates interested in gaining practical experience in large-scale IT operations within an educational environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Interns will play a key role in preparing devices, classrooms, and staff technology setups for summer programs and the upcoming school year.<\/p>\n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Device Refresh & Deployment (Primary Focus)\u00a0<\/strong><\/i>
\u2022 Perform hands-on device refresh work across multiple school sites, including imaging, configuring, cleaning, and testing laptops and Chromebooks\u00a0
\u2022 Assist with large-scale device collection, servicing, and redistribution efforts\u00a0
\u2022 Support preparation of devices for new hires, summer programs, and fall onboarding\u00a0
\u2022 Ensure all devices meet readiness standards prior to the start of the school year\u00a0<\/p>\n

School Site & Classroom Technology Setup\u00a0<\/strong><\/i>
\u2022 Support on-site classroom setup and closeout across multiple locations\u00a0
\u2022 Set up teacher workstations, student devices, and peripherals\u00a0
\u2022 Verify device quantities align with classroom and student needs\u00a0
\u2022 Complete classroom setup work within defined\u00a0timeframes\u00a0<\/p>\n

Inventory & Asset Management\u00a0<\/strong><\/i>
\u2022 Track and organize IT inventory across school sites\u00a0
\u2022 Update asset records and\u00a0maintain\u00a0accurate\u00a0device counts\u00a0
\u2022\u00a0Identify\u00a0and organize surplus or replacement equipment\u00a0
\u2022\u00a0Maintain\u00a0clean and organized storage and deployment areas\u00a0<\/p>\n

Documentation & Operational Support<\/strong>\u00a0<\/i>
\u2022 Assist with updating IT documentation and procedures\u00a0
\u2022 Support inventory cleanup and device standardization efforts\u00a0
\u2022 Help ensure consistency across classrooms and school sites\u00a0<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Interest in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field\u00a0
\u2022 Comfort working hands-on with hardware and devices\u00a0
\u2022 Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes\u00a0
\u2022 Ability to work onsite and travel between locations as needed\u00a0
\u2022 Reliable, organized, and able to complete tasks efficiently\u00a0<\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)\u00a0<\/strong><\/i>
\u2022 Experience with Chromebooks, laptops, or device setup\u00a0
\u2022 Familiarity with basic IT concepts\u00a0
\u2022 Interest in working in education or nonprofit environments\u00a0<\/p>\n

Additional Requirements:<\/i>
\u2022 Ability to lift and move IT equipment (e.g., laptops, carts, boxes)\u00a0
\u2022 Must be able to work a consistent full-time schedule for the duration of the internship\u00a0
\u2022 Reliable transportation to travel between sites\u00a0<\/p>\n

Background Check Requirement:<\/strong>

Travel:<\/strong> Onsite, Lawrence, MA (travel between sites required)\u00a0<\/p>\n

Work Environment: <\/strong>This onsite role involves working across multiple school locations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The position includes hands-on work with technology devices, classroom setups, inventory management, and occasional lifting and moving of equipment. Travel between sites is required.<\/p>\n
