Working under the direction of senior IT staff, the intern helps deploy and standardize hardware, supports new-hire onboarding, and resolves Tier 1 helpdesk requests \u2014 freeing senior technicians to focus on higher-value work while gaining practical experience in the Wheeler environment.<\/p>\n<p>This is an on-site position based in Salt Lake City, UT. Candidates must be able to commute to our Salt Lake City office.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<strong>Hardware Deployment &amp; Standardization:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Configure and deploy Mini PCs for digital display boards \u2014 reimage and standardize devices (including those running expired Windows 10 builds) to keep signage secure and supported.<\/li>\n<li>Configure and deploy network switches, including routine rollout and rack work.<\/li>\n<li>Hang and configure TVs and displays for conference room upgrades.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Identity &amp; Access Security:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct periodic access reviews and assist with user lifecycle management controls.<\/li>\n<li>Administer email security tooling (Defender for Office 365 or equivalent): configure policies, investigate phishing, and manage quarantine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Onboarding Support:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with new-hire onboarding &#8211; image machines, provision accounts, and prepare workstations so new employees are productive on day one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Helpdesk Support:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage Teir 1 helpdesk tickets as needed, reducing response times and letting senior technicians focus on complex issues.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Documentation &amp; Collaboration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Document security configurations, runbooks, and investigation findings.<\/li>\n<li>Partner with the Cloud &amp; Systems Engineer on platform hardening and Defender for Cloud configuration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Performs all other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (high school, technical\u00a0school, or college).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No professional experience required; coursework, personal projects, or prior hands-on exposure to PCs and networking is a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<strong>Technical Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic PC hardware.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of networking concepts (switches, IP addressing).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn imaging, provisioning, and helpdesk processes.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Soft Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow documented procedures.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset for helpdesk support.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<strong>Certifications (Preferred \u2013 Not Required):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CompTIA A+<\/li>\n<li>Azure 900 Fundamentals or AI Fundamentals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_ch_employer_id":"18980","_ch_external_id":"11096495","_ch_location_state":"","_ch_location_city":"","_ch_is_ocr_job":"","_ch_expiration_date":"2026-07-02","_ch_apply_link":"https:\/\/monmouth.joinhandshake.com\/jobs\/11096495\/share_preview"},"ch_stakeholder":[],"ch_class_year":[],"ch_job_category":[89],"ch_career_skill":[],"ch_industry":[52],"class_list":["post-18983","ch_job","type-ch_job","status-publish","hentry","ch_job_category-internships","ch_industry-business-finance-real-estate"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job\/18983","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/ch_job"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=18983"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"ch_stakeholder","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_stakeholder?post=18983"},{"taxonomy":"ch_class_year","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_class_year?post=18983"},{"taxonomy":"ch_job_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_job_category?post=18983"},{"taxonomy":"ch_career_skill","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_career_skill?post=18983"},{"taxonomy":"ch_industry","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ch_industry?post=18983"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
