We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Child Care Provider <\/strong>at our Domestic Violence (DV) Shelter. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a supportive and engaging environment for children residing in the shelter for after school and summer programing. The Childcare Provider is responsible for planning and implementing a variety of educational, recreational, and enrichment activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of the children.<\/p>\n

RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong>
\u2022Be prepared to address and de-escalate emotional crises or conflicts among children.
\u2022Foster a nurturing and empathetic environment to help children cope with the challenges they may be facing.
\u2022Develop and implement a diverse range of activities suitable for families and children in a shelter setting.
\u2022Collaborate with team members to create a monthly activity calendar that includes recreational, educational, and social events.
\u2022Provide guidance and support to participants during activities, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
\u2022Work closely with other shelter staff to align activities with overall program goals and objectives.
\u2022Collaborate with external partners and volunteers to enhance the variety and impact of activities offered.
\u2022Regularly assess the effectiveness and impact of activities on participants’ well-being.
\u2022Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation in shelter activities.
\u2022Compile data for reports on the success and outcomes of various programs.
\u2022Work hours fluctuate depending on whether it’s during the after-school program or the summer program.
\u2022Active in planning and carrying out informed activities and lessons.
\u2022Provides coverage\/services for all programs in the Children and Family Services program as needed.
\u2022Keeps children clean and change pampers of infants and toddlers as needed.
\u2022Prepares children\u2019s meals and maintains meal counts as needed.
\u2022Trains and coaches children toward independence as needed.
\u00a0<\/p>\n

REQUIREMENTS<\/strong>
\u2022Sensitivity to domestic violence issues.
\u2022Knowledge of age-appropriate activities.
\u2022Ability to establish rapport and trust with children and their parents.
\u2022Ability to multitask.
\u2022First Aid\/CPR certified or able to obtain certification.
\u2022Ability to lift 50 lbs.
\u2022Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
\u2022Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
\u00a0<\/p>\n

Budgeted Salary: $25.34 – $28.00 per hour (annualized base salary of $46,132 – $50,958); pursuant to step wage scale in accordance with collective bargaining agreement.<\/strong><\/p>\n
