{"id":18032,"date":"2026-05-29T19:09:55","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T19:09:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/childcare-preschool-teacher-2\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T19:09:55","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T19:09:55","slug":"childcare-preschool-teacher-2","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/childcare-preschool-teacher-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Childcare Preschool Teacher"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties<\/strong> is seeking a <strong>Childcare Preschool Teacher <\/strong>to join our team.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0YMCA\u00a0focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<p>This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As a Childcare Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for supporting the Lead Teacher at the YMCA Childcare Preschool year-round to serve our community with a variety of activity options to explore and develop the talents of youth so that children have fun, grow, and thrive in our care. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in planning the educational programs and assist with the daily implementation of the daily classroom curriculum.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and organize the classroom and classroom materials in accordance with the planned classroom curriculum.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with maintaining site and equipment, including properly implementing proper cleaning procedures and upkeep of equipment and facility.<\/li>\n<li>Attend and participate in family nights and program activities as applicable and agreed upon.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain positive public relations with members and always represent the best interests of the YMCA.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents.<\/li>\n<li>Engage children at all times and maintain program\/site in compliance with state licensing standards.<\/li>\n<li>Treat every participant fairly and equally regardless of circumstances and abilities, making each feel good about themselves and encouraging a fun environment.<\/li>\n<li>Greet all parents to establish a friendly rapport.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate effectively with Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, and Program Directors.<\/li>\n<li>Support Lead Teacher in the implementation of curriculum providing an integrated, child centered and comprehensive curriculum and multicultural environment, which meets the needs of every child, including those with disabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.<\/li>\n<li>Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Are you a good fit?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 18 years of age or older.<\/li>\n<li>High School Diploma or GED.<\/li>\n<li>Have or are willing to obtain a Washington State Initial stackable certification (Must enroll upon hire).<\/li>\n<li>A desire to have fun, engage with children and inspire creativity!<\/li>\n<li>A love for working with children.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of one-year experience working with children in a child care setting is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of birth to school-aged child development is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience with diverse populations.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.<\/li>\n<li>Sensitivity to the needs of families including adults and children.<\/li>\n<li>Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day.
