Sports Staff-Cheer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap<\/strong> Counties is seeking <strong>Youth Sports Staff- Specializing in Cheer\u00a0<\/strong>to join our team.<\/p>\n<p>The YMCA\u00a0focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<p>This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>As Youth Sports Staff- Cheer, you will be responsible for instructing class participants in cheer and activities, providing a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead and assist participants in skill development, game play, and activities appropriate for each age group.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage sportsmanship and teachable moments to implement our core values.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in creating age appropriate lesson plans to ensure fun, high-energy classes.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the facility, organize activities and instruct youth on proper use of equipment.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>You will ensure a safe, positive and fun environment.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>You will provide a quality experience focused on YMCA<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>core values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Caring.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Six months or more of related experience preferred.<\/li>\n<li>A commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.<\/li>\n<li>Positive attitude and previous experience with youth and diverse populations.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and skills in program activities and related sports and office equipment, and the ability to instruct participants in techniques.<\/li>\n<li>CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).<\/li>\n<li>You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.<\/li>\n<li>Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Wage:<\/strong>\u00a0$17.13 to $17.36 per hour,\u00a0(<i>Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range<\/i>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours:<\/strong>\u00a0Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per
