This position completes education assessments and progress reports on a regular basis and acts as a liaison for the client and school staff (counselors, teachers, etc.). They meet regularly with the youth at our program to connect them with educational resources, help with homework and share updates on their grades. They also provide offsite support to the youth in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Works with teachers to provide educational support and behavioral management in the classrooms. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Completes ongoing progress reports and uploads to the client\u2019s electronic record\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Completes the Education Assessment with 72 hours of the client\u2019s admission to the program and uploads to the client\u2019s electronic record\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Contracts client\u2019s previous facilities\/educational institutions, etc. for transferable credits.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Completes a \u201cClient Education Discharge Letter\u201d prior to youth leaving the program. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Assists in group outings and field trips with the clients.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Completes incident reports as required. Completes documentation in a timely manner. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Participates in daily shift change meetings and regularly scheduled staff meetings.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the milieu during periods of high activity, as needed.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Works effectively with external representatives and\/or community members to ensure cooperative and supportive working relations and coordination of client services. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team (case management, clinical, education, medical, etc.). \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies &amp; practices.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to workplace effectiveness; model professional behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of their impact in a trauma-informed behavioral healthcare organization.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned to ensure successful operation of program\/department\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Competencies<\/u><\/strong><u>:<\/u>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of and commitment to trauma-informed care.<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to utilizing a team approach while addressing the wellness of adolescents who have experienced complex trauma.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to professional growth.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing in English<\/li>\n<li>Ability to utilize critical thinking skills.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Maintain effective and professional working relationships with agency employees at all levels and the general public.<\/li>\n<li>Able to hold each other and yourself accountable to all individuals within Morrison, our clients and our community stakeholders .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Required Position Qualifications<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma required\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>1 year experience working with youth \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Bi-lingual in Spanish and English, written, read and verbal strongly preferred. Must clear a language proficiency test for Spanish.<\/li>\n<li>Attained age 21 years or older before first day of employment in position\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Preferred Position Qualifications<\/u><\/strong><u>:<\/u>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work in a classroom or educational setting\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Other Requirements:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blood borne Pathogens training is required on the first day of employment.<\/li>\n<li>CPR\/SFA obtained within 30 days of employment and kept current<\/li>\n<li>Complete required program trainings and update as required, including a training in Crisis De-escalation and Physical Restraint Techniques<\/li>\n<li>May work at multiple ORR Programs<\/li>\n<li>Pass a criminal history background check though Morrison and a suitability determination investigation through the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Breaks and meals are subject to interruption.
