Mentoring, both individually and in groups, occurs daily in the EAC room.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Program Related \u2013 In order to provide a quality experience for Boys &amp; Girls Club members, the Educational Activities Center Instructors are expected to plan a program which includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Supervised free play.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">At least two tournaments or contests each day.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Low-organized \u201cfor fun\u201d activities daily.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">At least one educational contest each day.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">At least one group club which meets weekly.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">To conduct the motivational contest daily as provided in the program prescription.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">To provide at least one activity sheet daily.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Comply with basic program components as explained in Instructor Training Outline (attached).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Integrate the use of the computer(s) into group clubs programming (Journalism Club and Homework Help Club) and allow for free-time use of computers by members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The above program activities should reflect specific age groups and boy\/girl\/coed opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Non-Program Related \u2013 In addition to program duties, Educational Activities Center instructors are expected to:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Maintain attractive up-to-date bulletin boards and displays, including a display of weekly program and member-of-the-month.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Secure areas at all times when EAC room is not open.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Maintain inventory of supplies and request additional supplies as needed.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Supervise hallways and area adjacent to EAC room.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Clean and secure room at the end of each day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 18 years of age.<\/li>\n<li>Possess a high school diploma.<\/li>\n<li>Possess a valid driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li>Possess a car to drive to and from work.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of basic first aid practices, procedures, and techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read and write at a level necessary to successfully perform the required duties.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions in an independent manner.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted to perform required duties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\/WORK ENVIRONMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Must pass an FBI\/BCI background check.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is the Boys &amp; Girls Club\u2019s philosophy and practices to provide reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>DISCLAIMER<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">This job description states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
