{"id":17947,"date":"2026-05-27T18:41:47","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T18:41:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/family-services-worker\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T18:41:47","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T18:41:47","slug":"family-services-worker","status":"publish","type":"ch_job","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/career-development\/job\/family-services-worker\/","title":{"rendered":"Family Services Worker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>General Responsibilities:<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with the coordination and implementation of services to families enrolled in Early Childhood Services Program as required by the Head Start Performance Standards and state and federal mandates.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure quality program service delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Protect the privacy of customers\/families and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Specific Duties:\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate and conduct applications\u00a0and assure the proper documentation for eligibility is collected and submitted in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Perform Hearing and Vision Screening on all enrolled children.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Actively recruit within the community to insure all eligible pregnant women, infants and toddlers are identified.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for working with Home Base Supervisor and Program Coordinator to maintain an active and current waitlist for Early Head Start.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Support Family Partnership Agreement goals as needed.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Work collaboratively to support DOE\u2019s, socializations and parent meetings.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Responsible to insure child files are complete and in order<\/li>\n<li>Work collaboratively with the Health Coordinator to obtain health follow up<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with preschool staff and support EHS staff in transition of all children to preschool. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Provide assistance to families to facilitate their participation in Policy Council, parent education opportunities, workshops, support groups, family plans and other opportunities.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Support the family by providing resources which will assist them in meeting documented needs or requests.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Collaborate effectively with Home Base Program Supervisor and Educators to plan and implement parent engagement opportunities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Make all efforts to assure the safety and well-being of all program participants.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Complete home visits to meet program needs as needed.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Accurately enter necessary data into Child Plus and EHS database.<\/li>\n<li>Accurately complete required program documentation and record keeping in a neat and timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Work effectively with Home Base Team and Component Coordinators in meeting program and overall departmental monthly, quarterly and annual goals and objectives.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Participate in personal and professional development activities, including staff meetings, conferences, training opportunities, as identified and approved by supervisors.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for being a positive, innovative and supportive team player and promoting a healthy work environment.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Addresses complaints and resolves problems as they arise.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Attend community events and meetings to support the agency programs; including evening and weekend events\/meetings.<\/li>\n<li>All other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Education and Experience Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Bachelors\u2019 degree in Social Work, Human Services, Human Development and Family Studies, or related.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Associates degree may be considered.<\/li>\n<li>Family Service Credential within 18 months of hire or the first session offered thereafter.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Must complete 16 hours of annual training in addition to CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen training.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability as a strength-based leader.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to present information to community groups.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start Act\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Child Plus preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Early Head Start experience preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong><u>Additional Requirements:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Possess a solid knowledge base with respect to child development and family services and seek to expand knowledge at every opportunity.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Complete additional certifications as required.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Maintain confidentiality and code of ethics at all times.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align:justify\">Must have Proficient Computer Skills.
