Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This position is accountable for acquiring right-of-way parcels for highway construction projects and property management and relocation functions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Essential Functions<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducts negotiations for acquiring rights-of-way.<\/li>\n<li>Makes available complete and accurate records, records processing, payment processing, payment\u00a0processing of title commitments, title insurance policies, information regarding negotiations, and\u00a0information regarding title clearance.<\/li>\n<li>Answers to inquiries concerning present and past acquisition problems.<\/li>\n<li>Determines relevant data, inputs that data, and extracts information for reports out of the Land Acquisition System database.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains records on the acquisition of title information and follow-ups.<\/li>\n<li>Determines what documents need to be executed in order to obtain a clear title and reports this\u00a0information to the Acquisition Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Establishes and maintains good working relationships with all contacts.<\/li>\n<li>Performs local agency project certification, property management, and relocation functions.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains and follows the district\u2019s record retention policy.<\/li>\n<li>Perform duties in compliance with departmental safety rules, and in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of two years of college majoring in engineering, construction management, or\u00a0related field PLUS one year of professional experience in real estate, surveying, title work, land\u00a0acquisition, appraisal, negotiation, property management, relocation assistance, or a\u00a0combination thereof OR Two years of professional experience in real estate, surveying, title work, land acquisition, appraisal, negotiation, property management, relocation assistance, or a combination thereof.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of real estate appraising process, negotiations and condemnation process, property management, and relocation principles.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to exercise sound judgment.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret maps, plans, plates, legal descriptions, and title abstracts.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain effectual working relations with property owners, attorneys, and\u00a0governmental officials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Conditions of Employment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li>Districtwide travel.<\/li>\n<li>Successful completion of a background screening.<\/li>\n<li>Notary Public license, or ability to obtain Notary Public license within six months of hire date.<\/li>\n<li>The conditions of employment listed here are incorporated and related to any of the job duties as listed in the job description.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About the Agency<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking to hire Negotiators.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The IDOT team works diligently to provide safe, cost-effective transportation for Illinois in ways that enhance quality of life, promote economic prosperity and protect our environment.
