In office work required<\/u>\u00a0– Must be willing to commute to Oakland\/Lake Merritt Area (Zip Code 94612). No relocation stipends available.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If so, the Auditor-Controller Internship Program may be the perfect opportunity for you to experience working in a collaborative environment and getting hands-on experience in various areas.\u00a0Our multitude of departments offer job assignments ranging from conducting audits of County programs to working with local artists and programming the latest technologies.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Current Opportunities for Hands-on Experience:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Clerk-Recorder:\u00a0<\/strong>Records and archives over 300,000 real\u00a0property documents and maps every year.\u00a0Office maintains the County\u2019s vital statistics register of birth, death, and marriage records and administers various documents.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Disbursements:\u00a0<\/strong>Maintains County procurement contracts, expense claims, and vendor payments. Conducts site visits and certifications for Small, Local and Emerging vendors.<\/p>\n

Central Payroll:\u00a0<\/strong>Processes payroll and generates paychecks for over 9,000 County employees.\u00a0Manages the County\u2019s Worker\u2019s Compensation and State Disability Insurance Programs.<\/p>\n

Central Collections:\u00a0<\/strong>Specializes in revenue recovery, collecting over $13 million annually in court-related fines and restitutions, and other receivables.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Community Outreach\/Public Relations:<\/strong>\u00a0Maintains important communication to members of the community to effectively share news, updates and resources.<\/p>\n

General Accounting:\u00a0<\/strong>Prepares the Comprehensive\u00a0Annual Financial Report and maintains the County\u2019s fiscal accounting procedures.<\/p>\n

Internal Audit:\u00a0<\/strong>Conducts internal audits of Alameda County programs and departments.<\/p>\n
